Cosworth 22-12-2015 12:25 PM

I followed the manual and built mine perfectly. Yet I still struggle to get full lock without piddling about with mine.

I've had to shorten the link and use a longer servo arm to get anywhere near full lock. Yet a friend of mine with the same servo and standard servo arm (offset to the same place) gets it easily. Could this be down to him using Sanwa and me using an Esprit 3?

I guess I'll have to. Although it's ok at the moment its not ideal having everything (both travel at 150% and balance at 100%) on the steering set to maximum to get full lock.

Apary from that its a great car! Can really drive it aggressively compared to the yz2, can't wait to tinker with it and find some more speed from it.

I was hoping this thread would be buzzing with activity and people sharing there experiences with the new car.
Instead it seems pretty dead.

Well I'd better start then.

I set mine up with kit setup apart from a few minor tweeks and on its first run it was in the wet. Out of the box, damp astro, greasy surface and it was right on the money and I was equalling times straight away as I do with my kf2. As the morning went on the track dried out and I put yellows on, oh my god! It was phenomenal, albeit a little soft at the rear but no grip roll. On that day I only had one heat with yellows as it soon got damp again.

Next week it was chucking it down, I used the same BB greens from the previous week all meeting and it was faultless and was almost lapping a good dry time.

Last weekend the track started slightly damp which meant it was greasy but towards the end of the morning it had dried sufficiently for yellows. A few quick changes to make it more suitable for the dry and the handling was spot on. Battery to the front, rear chassis flex screws changed from grip to stability and put 2 stripe rear springs on. For such a quick change it handled very well and I was able to put fast laps in lap after lap, very easy to drive.

So far, all in all the car works very well for me, so much so that I have sold my old kf and given my son my kf2. Well worth the wait!

Not everyone wants or has a facebook account though. It also appears to be a "closed group".

Thanks for the feedback. I can't wait to get mine built, it's currently wrapped up under the christmas tree!

In the wet did you run the battery towards the back?

What are you guys building your Xb2 with, hard or medium plastics? I will run on carpet - varied levels of grip and damp astro during the winter.

Cheers
Simon

jonathan may 25-12-2015 08:23 PM

hard mixture of both for capet but medium for damp astro with a balldiff

Are you using 3 hole as in manual on the shockers?

jonathan may 26-12-2015 07:53 AM

2 hole 1.6mm front and 2 hole 1.7mm rear you will have to drill the pistions out with 500 and 400 oil

Did you build the car with medium parts ?

dobber 26-12-2015 05:37 PM

I built the car with the medium parts. In the summer I may need a combination of parts but for now medium works extremely well.

Ball Diff

Has the ball diff been released yet for the XB2? if so who has stock?

If not, has anyone tried a ball diff from any other 2wd in car to see if it fits?

Cheers

Will there be a three gear transmission for the xb2 ?.

Rick-J 15-01-2016 11:37 AM

Built my first Xray kit and the quality and fit are amazing compared to my ae stuff. The level of support from Xray and from Bent is a amazing but please Xray sort it out and produce or ship more wheels to the UK. Its no good having a new car if everywhere in the UK has no stock of rear wheels. I know others fit but I want Xray wheels so I don't upset the width or offset.

I think I've read elsewhere that there wont be a 3 gear in laydown. When the dirt edition comes out, there will be an option for both 3 and 4 gear mid motor gearbox.

I have high offset exotek rear hexes so I can run Schumacher wheels if needed. (for my XB4 anyway)

They are shipping from Xray now so It's a matter of transport and customs times.

No. 46 04-02-2016 04:28 PM

Do any other manufacturers wheels fit straight on without having to change the hexes to keep the track width. Schumacher or yokomo perhaps?

the dug 04-02-2016 06:17 PM

Wheels

See the post insideline racing. Kev says PR fronts fit and they also have X-ray rears in stock. I've ordered some so hope they're OK.:thumbsup:

Schumacher def do not fit. Tried them, wrong track width by a long way. Don't know about yokomo.

Ross 04-02-2016 07:00 PM

Schumacher rims with mini pins on make the rear around 2-3mm narrower than STD rims. This can be made up by different hex's, worth doing if you have lots of rims?

PR front rims are the same width, rears are around 2mm wider.
