really i think he is fantastic.
i think the only g.p. rider that may just pip him is ago:thumbsup:

Smartalec 04-11-2008 01:08 PM

They're all good drivers, no doubting that one, just to get one of those babies off the line straight is a mission in itself and they wouldn't be in F1 if they were crap. But personally, I hate all the Hamilton hype, he's good like the rest of them but if you give him the car with the lowest budget he aint gonna win. Give him a few more years experience and see how he's going then. Look at all the hype with Button, the British public pumped him up and he's nowhere. Put him in a McLaren or a Ferrari and it would be a different story........... Hamilton the best?, I think not (yet) ......... Schumacher me thinks has been there and done it all, he might be dirty, agressive, arrogant, German..........but he was quick in every car he drove and I can't ever see Hamilton stepping up to take his crown :D

c0sie 04-11-2008 01:10 PM

Hamilton won GP2 championship on his first go.

If GP2 is supposed to be all the same cars does that not prove your theory that Hamilton in a car that isnt top of the charts cant win?

Smartalec 04-11-2008 01:15 PM

Do you honestly think he'd win in a car outside of the top 3 manufacturers?

No, they weren't slow, but the Williams was better and he still beat them. Don't get me wrong, i'm no great fan of Schumacher but I think Hamilton has a major problem to overcome before he can be considered that good. The people who hype anyone up in this country are the same ones who very quickly slate them when they slip up. I remember Steve Davis being hailed as the newest, brightest talent in snooker then winning the world title, he was then hailed the best snooker player ever born ....... after the fourth time he won it he was then hailed as the most boring person on the planet .......... that's the british public for you and I think the hype is what will get to Hamilton way before he becomes a legend :(

couldn't agree more with some of the comments here... Hamilton not a great world champion and IMHO this season was full of rubbish driving from all the WC contenders.

it's not his driving that i have a problem with, it's his attitude.

all f1 drivers are boring now anyway.
i want to see more fights like when mansell and senna had a coming together on the track mansell made it back to the pits and senna stopped out on the track.
he made his way back to the pits marched straight past his pit and into mansells and punched him.

cool.......

give me moto g.p. any day.
the racers are more fun.

colin edwards is the man:thumbsup:

If Massa went in and punched Hamilton I bet he'd play the racist card instead of punching him back :)

I can see why people think that Hamilton has an attitude problem, but didn't schumi?

And I can't see how Hamilton is classed as childish?

The media shouldn't hype our sports people up. As there's always the chance they could fail.

DCM 04-11-2008 02:22 PM

be fair guys, ALL thr drivers have attitude, they wouldn't be where they are if they didn't have a deep seated belief that they ARE GOD behind the wheel. And to be fair, there is quite a wide range of talent on the grid, going from the greats... alonso, Hamilton, Massa, and maybe, just maybe, Vettel and Kubica, but the rest are there to make the numbers up and hope to hoover up some points.

In the end, the guy who won, was the one who squandered the least points, not so much, won the most.

but.....it was an Arrows!!! :o

Southwell 04-11-2008 02:31 PM

The problem with Button is he moans about the car, constantly. Shouldn't he be helping develop it? They just seem to be going backwards. Just look at what Alonso does when he steps into a crap car, half a season on and he's moved the development on by miles! He's still a twat though. :p

DCM 04-11-2008 02:31 PM

DC won in a Red Bull.... at Monaco..... he surely is a GOD then..... :woot:
