Hex, yes you can use it, no, it is an option.

Cockerill 06-12-2012 05:40 PM

Losi sized front hexes are included in the kit, the rear is still pin drive.

burschi 06-12-2012 05:55 PM

@Cockerill,
Could you please tell us the benefit of the small bore shocks? or the different between small and big bore shocks, would be great,
Thanks a lot, George

K1 photo with electronics?

Hello all and especially team riders,

Is it possible to post a picture of a K1 with the electronics
installed?

Greetings,

Hans

Just ordered black M3 nuts and black m4 serrated nuts to make it perfectly black. :D

I've attached some pictures of my car wired up and ready to go this weekend at Silverstone :D

Small Bore Shocks: We've found they make the car much more agile and responsive. When combined with the Big Bore Springs they seem to improve the car over bumps so you get the best of both worlds. Lightweight/responsive shocks that are better over the bumps/landings

now ive seen the car , under the shell , i want to get one ( i love my sx3 ) how differently does the car drive compared to the sx3's and does most of the sx3 "bling bits " fit the k1 ?

cheers:thumbsup:

GRIFF55 06-12-2012 07:36 PM

You disappoint me Tom! Why purple turnbuckles?? Ditch those for gold or silver and that will be one sweet looking ride!

Perfect! Thanks Tom

Purple is one of the reasons I don't shumacher Tom, nice to see it not on this car. I do have to admit this is the first schumacher I have ever liked. It might be time to give it a go.

Ive seen a few people ask about parts compatability with the SX3, I'll try give a run down:

The 4 quarters including the suspension blocks are the same, apart from:

Rear drive shafts (New ones are slightly Longer)
Rear arms (We now use a single outer pin, old ones will still fit with double pin)
Rear of the rear suspension blocks (Now M4 to eliminate bending)

The diffs are also the same apart from the diff pulley.

Big Bore shocks will bolt straight on for those who wish to use them.

reg 07-12-2012 12:28 PM

What are going to be the must have top ups,i see the turnbuckles, what about the FAB thing and other bits,
thanks,
Mark

U4160Rear Alloy Block Conversion Set - CAT K1
or is that just a full set?

Yes, the Rear Rear block is now mounted with an M4 screw. I believe the new part number is for the whole set of parts to convert the rear end from plastic to alloy suspension mounts.

I believe the new inboard use 4mm screws instead 3mm to address bending screw problem.

Spu83 07-12-2012 03:05 PM

From the instruction manual looks like only 1 side (motor side) battery can mount in different position not both side. Will it alter the balance of the car (left and right)?

Maybe they'll come out with something similar to the old TDS on the CAT 3000. It was 2 belt mid motor and had the ABS (adjustable braking) for the front.

PaulUpton 07-12-2012 04:37 PM

Because Matt Owen is useless ive had to put his pictures up, here is his Cat K1

small issue ?

Hello all,

Is it me or do you have to replace the entire upper deck
if in a crash the front turnbuckle attachment point snaps?
On the SX3 that was just a small piece to replace.
It never happened to me but I could easily see this happen.
Still loving the looks of the thing.

Edit : Nevermind, the exploded view helped me to see I was
completely wrong

Hans

Cruise 09-12-2012 04:56 PM

Wiring is easy but I hate it anyway.
It seems to be a bit left side heavy. But I hadnīt it on scales yet.

Not surprising considering they put the servo on the wrong side of the car

Wonder if it's possible to fit it on the other side without interfering with the belt?

tinnylad 10-12-2012 07:02 AM

The standard sx3 shell isn't a bad fit.

Raced the k1 yesterday, really good car.

Hello all.

I am considering buying the new CAT K1 and since I'm not so much into Schumacher (yet), I need some good advice which I hope you can help me with.

what would you suggest as extra parts, ie parts which is always nice to have extra lying around? and what are the must-have of hop-ups when they come up for sale?

you are welcome to drop links so I'm sure to get the right parts.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

and will thees fit RPM Heavy Duty Rod Ends 4-40:
http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...s-12-4-40.html

Thanks.
