Quote:

Robin said, that it wasnt part on the main project because they didnt think diffs would be aloud in the BRCA rules, but as it was desided at AGM they started work

What surface are you running on?

spud31 29-05-2012 05:36 PM

I've only run on carpet, with the kit tyres, and had loads of traction. It was turning in faster than I anticipated initially, but I dialed it out with EPA and a little exponential on the steering. once that was done, it was running great. I'm running no o-rings on the pod links, rear yellow springs on the middle holes. I used green front springs, but I may swap back to blues next event.

I suspect you need to get the tyres right for the track surface, then tune the handling.

Softer tyre compound and/or tyre additive ( if allowed ) will help tyres grip. Front/Rear weight balance can be a factor.

Sharp turn in under power can produce oversteer. Dial down EPA and if you can reduce steering rate

These cars look pretty strong, has anyone found out any common parts that break yet, just looking for some advice on what parts to carry.

stegger 04-06-2012 12:39 PM

I've only seen spur gears go (48dp) car is very strong ;)

andyr 05-06-2012 07:18 AM

same with me only done a 48dp gear to be fair tho it was the motor that moved

TOMO WEF 05-06-2012 07:02 PM

I think some of the saloon stox racers have had some issues with breakages.
Circuit racing I don't think there have been too many issues unless it's been a big shunt.

mine has took some pretty hard knocks , no issuses with breakages , only motor moved an narnered my spurgear but was still useable

neallewis 21-06-2012 12:04 AM

Loose pinion and 1/2 chewed 48dp spur is all i've had go wrong. Actually running 74tooth spur, and it's picked up a lot of carpet crud and mashed the teeth before I had the pinion come loose. I'm going to switch to 70 tooth next and see if it improves. I think the schumacher spurs are soft plastic. Do any other 48dp spurs fit?

Otherwise fine apart from a few chunked kit tyres. But I had not trued them down.

could be your solid axle causing that on tarmac, as one wheel has to break traction mid corner

PRO-Buggy 22-06-2012 11:24 AM

What is the difference for driving between the two chassis?
Is an 1S chassis better for circuit or is an saddle chassis better for circuit?

mark christopher 22-06-2012 05:54 PM

i was told the 2s was meant more for oval classes

This version is designed for 6 NiMh cells or 2s saddle lipo’s and is mainly used for Oval racing. It includes the different battery mounting system, a 3mm chassis and different spring and tyre choice, compared to the 4 Cell/1s primarily circuit car.
