It is a real shame that they clash, I really can't make my mind up where to go this week, Stotfold, or Coastal:confused:

It may mean I end up not doing any of the Regionals at all.

racingdwarf 12-03-2012 04:34 PM

have to say I'm in the same boat.

Don't say that.... someone needs to keep Hubbard in his place!

I think George can manage that ok without me!

Thing for me is, if I miss round 1, I'm unsure about round 2 as well as I couldn't get the night off work, so if I miss 2 rounds, it's not worth doing the rest, would need 4 good scores from 4 meetings, no room for errors or problems.

Sunday

Is it normal times at coastal on Sunday? Of gates opening at 9. Cheers.

Yep as normal gates open at 9am.
45 entries so far, its going to be a great meeting.
Chris has booked in but to anybody else if you or your mates intend to race please book in it will make sunday morning run so much smoother and mean we get racing sooner.

Benh 12-03-2012 07:34 PM

Gonna miss Mr Myall not being there, for our last meeting was epic! Unfortunately, he is right about George. Also, there are some names I don't recognise and some I do, so giving it the big spuds now would only create a bigger fall/fool (both spellings apply).

On a positive note, I hope Myally will look at the current list of drivers at Stot and do some math. Given his current position, he would need to be 8th or higher to jump a place or 5th to get 3rd overall (pending others results).

I would goad and say things like, "Myallys only going to Stotfold to get an easy race", or "he doesn't want to come and race against me as he know I am a Worlds A-Finalist in Z-Finalist disguise". But silly taunts don't work.....;)

2 more are looking to come along. Just waiting for their BRCA numbers.
(Wiggles 4WD/ Kieran 2WD)

They'll book in before the weekend.

The annoying thing for me is that I should've/could've finished 8th or higher at the last meeting, but for the car feeling slow all day, then found out after I got home that I'd forgoten to plug the sensor lead into the motor:o pluged it back in, and warp speed returned:lol:

Where ever I end up this week, it'll be a last minute thing.

I'm sure they said the same last year to, so I'll belive it when I see them;)

Saying that though, Tokes has already booked in, so stranger things can happen!

On a side issue, Tom, will LiPos be getting checked this year? don't want to spend £££s on new BRCA legal ones only to find out that peeps are using dodgy cheapo Chinese things:thumbdown:

Benh 12-03-2012 09:03 PM

This isn't something I'd put any substantial amount of money on. Although he seemed very keen when I said 'these dates ARE the ones you're looking for'.

No. 46 12-03-2012 09:08 PM

In recent experience the cheap dodgy chinese things have been much better behaved than the £££ BRCA ones:thumbsup::thumbsup:

We've had a few LRP lipos go up down the swanny recently but the turnigy lipos are proving popular and are going strong, pretty sure that they identical to some on the brca other than a sticker:confused:

Having spoken to Tom he has asked me to pass onto everyone that EoE homologation compliance checks were only being applied to drivers who have won a regional series, a club competition, or competed at Stotfold in the last 12 months and in the interest of fairness, these are the only batteries being allowed. LINK

Best of luck everyone:thumbsup:

a rule like that could only come from sufolk:lol:, you missed the bit about crossing norfolk/sufolk borders with poss ilegal lipos.....you can get burnt in a wicker man for that:woot:.

jcb 13-03-2012 08:56 AM

Can I just say that talking about running non-homologated batteries in a regional series on an open forum is asking for the regional series to become void before it even gets started!!

Everyone should be running batteries and motors from the homologation list if they are to compete in the regional series. They along with a LIPO sack will also be required should anyone wish to compete in the end of season finals.

I would also suspect that the club insurance may become void if a problem were to occur from a non-homologated cell.

No. 46 13-03-2012 09:12 AM

Does it really matter if Joe Bloggs comes along to race at a regional race, with there madrat or the like, with a pack of batteries that aren't on the brca list. They are not likely to be worrying the top of the time sheets and disturbing the outcome of the meeting.

The racers at the top end of the time sheets know the rules and what they should and shouldn't be running. The drivers that want to race for the brca championship will have the right equipment because that will be one of the criteria when purchasing the equipment.

Just a quick point, all of the people commenting on this subject are not booked in to race in the series.

racingdwarf 13-03-2012 09:38 AM

JCB has a point,Tom needs to read the book and check the rules. As this is a BRCA sanctioned Competition.A regional BRCA meeting does have to run with some of the basic rules to match the other regions, thus all the drivers in the country are running on an even field, as at the end Tom will send the results in for F grading, and for BRCA 345 finals etc.
Now the way I see it.some of the basic rules, batterys, motors and also time keeping and track dimensions etc should be the same nation wide,
Now I agree about premoting the region, but also this is a BRCA meeting, one rule for one and one for another will open a can of worms, and also get the smoking man on the phone:woot:.

and to the last note, no I'm not booked in,but I could and I can ask questions of my local BRCA meetings, as I am a BRCA member.

It's a BRCA event so will be run to the rule book, Ben has not spoke to me regarding homologation lists! The above comment is not my view.
We wil not be turning drivers away but whilst it's a sanctioned event guidlines have to be followed, please feel free to PM or Email me with any concerns.

Thanks
Tom
