It is permitted to race but it won't be very good against our buggies. If you can get a buggy and then you have more of a chance in races and save the e-firestorm for bashing

Get yourself a B4 2nd hand. The spares are cheap! and you can get the cars for about £60-£80 spend a little on the electrics and you will have a decent car that will hold its money.

I started with a B4 and i found it great to drive! you would be fine it the 4.1 RTR they are just over £200.

Well to be fair, I'm fairly new to this game also. And the B4 has been fine in my opinion.
i've had two of these now and i think they are a good car for the money.

Yes i'm sure there are much better cars. But as i remember from a previous post he's a young lad.
so i would assume he doesn't have an unlimited budget.

I saw that one! It looks like a good car. You could sell the brushed gear that comes with it to fund a brushless setup.

I run an 8.5t orca setup. That cost me about £130 that seems like a pretty decent setup.

All told i have spend about £400 so far. And i have got pretty much everything i need and a well setup car.

I suppose it all depends on your budget.

Hey you lot!!!

This is the track thread........What's it got to do wi' cars ?

Si Coe 16-03-2011 08:23 PM

I've no idea either Rog!

But since people are talking cars:

The B4 is our current beginners weapon of choice, and with good reason. Its tough, easy to setup, nice to drive and goes very well. Rob and Nick can win with it, so its not just a beginners car.

Firestorms can race with us, but we aren't currently running a truck class. We will if there is enough demand, otherwise you'd be in with the buggys. Actually at the old Goshen track trucks could lap as well as 2wd buggys due to being better over the bumps, but I'm not so sure at the new one. So if you like it and want one by all means, but unlike the B4 there won't be a wealth of knowledge and spares trackside. However Firestorms are very tough, so you won't need the spares.

However I did PM you about some stuff. Reply to me with budget details and I'll see what I can sort. I can normally find a package for any budget - just ask Whiskers who I got racing on a shoestring!

Yep, Si sold me a car for £40 to get me racing and now I can out qualify him!

BTW has anybody got any more news/pictures on the current progress on the new track?

Not without cutting the track you can't!

And I didn't sell you the Cat so much as offered it on a sort of hire/purchase scheme until you were ready to pay.......
