I have no clues about tyres for carpet. Can I get a few hints?

Are there any surefire make/tread/compounds?

Elliott.

Hi Elliott

Schumacher Yellow Minipins will be the choice, but Yellow Minispikes also work well and are a lot less aggressive....

To be honest i don't think there will be anything else that gets close to either of these.

ginger fixit 22-11-2007 12:39 PM

Why not FTD? Surely the track conditions aren't going to changeas the day goes on, are they?

Lee Martin 27-11-2007 08:58 AM

could blue groove!!!!!!!

hahaha

but could be FTD.

Southwell 27-11-2007 09:19 AM

FTD has my vote, 2 out of 3 rounds doesn't leave any room for a breakage/bad run.

RogerM 27-11-2007 12:53 PM

Another vote for FTD but I don't think it was a vote ... was it?????

ginger fixit 27-11-2007 12:57 PM

guys

if i had said ftd x would have said round by round i cant win i take your point i will change it to ftd but i dont agree i prefer round by round by hey

thanks cool Andy

markwilliamson2001 27-11-2007 12:59 PM

Leave it as it was I say..

I prefer round by round as well.

M.

Southwell 27-11-2007 01:06 PM

Vote on the day?

markwilliamson2001 27-11-2007 02:31 PM

Yeah okay then, whats the decision behind 3 finals for all (as I read it) or was it just a finals only have 3 legs?

I would have thought it would be better to have 3 rounds of qually and 2 finals for all, since then time does not become a problem.

Mark

Southwell 27-11-2007 02:34 PM

Well theres only 80 competitors, considering nats have 120+ and finish at a decent time i don't think it will be much of a problem.

Nick Goodall 27-11-2007 03:18 PM

I think Andy wanted to give everyone 3 Leg finals to increase the amount of "racing" for everyone rather then just qualifying all day to have one final.

I'm sure it'll be fine on the day, it's just a bit different!

Up to Andy but i guess a vote for FTD or Rd x Rd would be an idea for the morning? Depends how hard it is to set-up on the computer as i have no idea!

Should be a good day either way though

RogerM 27-11-2007 08:44 PM

The problem with round by round on 3 rounds only is that if you have a problem in one round your day is effectively over as you'll have to drive conservatively to make sure you have 2 scores on the board to get any final at all....

Just another thought, 3 finals will be a bit of a problem for some people to charge ...... charging at 1C (I normally charge less than this) means your looking at about an hour to charge a pack of cells. When you consider that you need to let them cool between running and charging and most people will already be using at least one of their 3 packs (this seems a standard number) twice durring a normal day it is going to become an issue ...... just a thought.

I'll have to work out if I can still attend (from a charging point of view), which will be a shame as I was looking forward to it. :(
