And a Durango shell for Mike Edwards in the same design to one I painted earlier in the year in his colours :)

Just a quick note to mention I'm getting married at the start of November (still a few things to sort.. Actually still quite a lot to sort!!) and will be away for a couple of weeks straight after returning on the 23rd November.

Still a few shells in the que to come through but things will return to normal when we get back

Cheers,

Mike.

Hi Mike.

That set of circuit car shells that are all the same looks amazing !
They do indeed look identical, one hell of a job that on fella.
How the hell did you make sure you got the design the same on each ? Did you trace it ?

jonmiller 16-10-2010 01:39 PM

Just the way I do it but I'm sure most others do it the same, find the center line of the shell, draw your design on one side, trace, flip over the design and copy to the other side. Then just use that template for the other shells. Some shells you can just sit over the top of the one with the design on and trace it that way but alot of shells don't fit flush enough to do it.
By the way, nice design Mike

:)

Mike Parker 16-10-2010 03:17 PM

Cheers guys :)

Yep like Jon mentioned I usually draw out the design on one half of the shell and trace it out, sections at a time and take it from there... It does get the consistency of the design right :)

Yo Andy seen you've got you're name in for Chadderton fella

hey mike

lookin good bud.

looks like you are dabbing your cling film(or whatever medium you are using) in the paint then applying to the shell??
if that is the case, have you tried applying your paint wet then laying the film onto it, pressing if required then removing?

just a couple different ways of doing it so thought i would mention. you probably know that already but just incase you don't, great.

And a few shots of my recently christened Durango, thought i'd change my colours for 2011 a lil... My usual green & yellow colours were starting to get a lil bit unlucky!!

Been a busy time recently but getting back into the swing of things.. More in the pipeline for the turn of the new year so watch this space

Cheers fella

I've tried doing it both ways - Found the latter being a lot easier and less messy!
