I think things get a bit taken out of context on here, we've (as in those who've posted) all got the best interests of the Bury club at heart. Most of the views about track and facilities proposed seem reasonable to me. I also think most of the 'opinionated' people are experienced racers and views should be considered as much as anyone else even if they race elsewhere. They also I think appreciate that we were all novices (some would say I still am) and definitely want to get 1/10, and the Bury club in particular, back to the level of popularity of years gone by. Isn't that why the thread was put up in the first place, rather than to argue about other issues about recent attendances of the club for racing.

Been reading this with some interest
I would like to say I enjoy coming to bury for the main reason of its a different track. With different aspects to it
I race at another. Northwest club(ill keep names out of it) and like the setup bury has now its unique and is challenging
In my opinion I would like to see yournew track just as unique as the current one rather than "the best bits from other tracks" as I think all tracks should be different for more enjoy ment
Blank canvases are the best start and I know rog and stu plus all the other guys down there would be able to design a great track of there own (I know easier said than done)
Hope you don't mind just thought I'd voice my opinion

Ours

I'm glad you picked up on the use of the word "ours". Ours meaning not mine or yours but everyones who attends the club with continuing support. I think my post has been taken out of context or it's my fault for not putting my point across well. No malice intended

Whatever is done - just ensure the BRCA rulebook is to hand. It may seem obvious, but track width, no obstacles from start line, all important. I know the Woody's will realise this.

Still no news

I've been lead to believe work on the move will not start this year so it will be a case of doing up what we've got.
When the weather improves we should able to get something done.
I don't think anyone wants to work in the mud.

If and when you do start,I will happily give up all my spare time"eee" to lend a hand. somedays will have more people to work on it, but we will get there in the end.

track

however the track turns out, going of the ideas roger has floating around itl be a good one,im sure stu has a few too. il be happy if the track was the same, dont think anything is wrong with the way it is,do others agree? its been bury buggy club/metro track for the last 20 years, and it still would be if it wasn't for the new gym.the track must work as 20 years on its still here!(dont think we could replecate the millions of bumps though on the new track :woot: )main thing we will need is a good work team behind the design.

mmm.....:eh?:, dont think the rostrum will hold together well with duct tape :p,im sure johnny can show you how to paint without the use of glitter.you will have your use,

Si Coe 11-02-2010 09:00 PM

Oh yeah! Can we have a whole corner on the track were the surface is nothing but duct tape? It would be totally awesome and since its one of the 3 tools I understand (WD40 and Hammer being the others) is a job I could do without causing too many casualties.

(btw - caused a fire today - at a parents evening! Demo went a little 'wrong')

The wrong time

A phone call from the council bod said I had the wrong time and the meeting was at 11:00...............:cry:or:confused:
Also asked if "anywhere" at the Goshen would do as they have plans for more than a new gym.........I'll find out more when they re-schedule another meeting.

If we ban i.c. 's larger than one tenth, does it mean we can't run our roller or use a mini digger ???
.................................You'll have to bring your shovels then. Hope you're still keen to help.

Si Coe 12-02-2010 08:37 PM

Seriously we might have to properly ban ic's and make more effort to keep them and the mini-motos off our track if its a significant move within Goshen.
I've had a chat with one of the guys in the house near the entrance to the park and suspect whilst we don't bother him, I doubt he'd be keen on hearing nitros droning around the track.
At present the track is about as far away from the houses as possible within Goshen, so any move is going to make us nearer them. Since noise is about the easiest thing someone could use to get us closed down we will have to insure that we don't disturb the neighbours. Sadly this means not only the club, but also anyone attracted to our track (we do have responsibility for it). I realise the 'security' at the park is supposed to stop that, but we know how good they are......

The race controller 12-02-2010 09:41 PM

Noise

Yes Si, that is something I did NOT think about.

budfish 13-02-2010 08:33 AM

Close to houses

But if the track does end up nearer to the houses there is more chance of the vandels being seen. I'm more than happy to drive down at a night and catch these weasels. I might even take a couple of young ruff necks down with me and get them to deal the vandels some special justice!!!

Hi all,

This all sounds great.

I cant wait to come down when it starts outdoor again. Let me know if any works going on and i will see if i can join the gang in helping out. I still need to try and get my mate to come Graffiti the place up with a cool RC Mural his really good and has done a massive piece in our works corridor.

Im not big on regionals but the guys i have met over the summer last year are a great bunch and i found Bury a fun welcoming club and i learned a lot about buggy racing trying to get my Durga around the track in one piece. :-)

See you all soon,

Regards

VV
