I found with my Slash, I guess because the wheels are under the body, it mucks up really badly, but being waterproof at least I could hose it down without even removing the electrics, so cleaning didn't take too long.

The problem running in the wet, isn't so much, the mud, it is the bearings, you don't get to them fast, and they start to sieze pretty fast!! I had one diff bearing on the way in the SC10, and two wheel bearings in the 4WD.

""The problem running in the wet, isn't so much, the mud""

Are you for real :woot: NOT in the buggies but the SC10 it most definately IS. Absolutely caked novak fan stopped running as it could no longer turn and I was scooping the mud out with a spoon :D Lucky I cover the RX in bluetak !!

DCM 30-07-2009 01:21 PM

Ah, see, if you run a speedo that don't need a fan..... then that is no longer an issue, I just covered it in a few sheets of kitchen roll, and it stayed lush and dry in there, the rest of the chassis was like a pool though, that just washes off though... the bearings, thats another thing..

ex-sco77morgan 30-07-2009 01:31 PM

I never clean bearings just buy new ones ????????????

Wouldn't know where to start and what are these ceramic ones all about ?

DCM 30-07-2009 01:33 PM

Ceramic are overly expensive and a waste of time, in my opinion, but I am sure someone will disagree.... In the Tamiya, I bin them, I give them a clean in the ultrasonic bath, and if they are still rough, in they go, but I not got any spare imperial ones at the moment.

I think the Ledbury meeting this weekend will accomodate SC10s if enough turn up, if its dry it will be amazing :woot:
