Hello,
could someone point me towards as much info as possible regarding moulds for CF ? I've read the offroadcult article about the piranha p2 but that sure does not seem to cost 80 pounds...

Nice project anyway !

edit : wow I've been a oople member for so long to be able to see the pictures and yet it's just my first post !

Only just seen this! Fantastic craftmanship & thinking outside the box! *big applause*

To me the A-C carbon tub shells are the coolest & most impressive pieces of RC components I've ever seen in my entire life. I just love my S2 and S44!

Yours looks to be of the same standard!

AND - you've thinked outside of the box making that totally "alien/organic" top brace! Never seen anything like that!

Made me think... why not try to mold the whole shell out of thin carbon fibre, and attaching it firmly to the chassis, making it a part of the main construction itself? Then painting some of it, leaving some nude carbon...

Would be like today's top skis and surfboards, where you can see parts of the internal carbon (or wooden) core  PORN!!!

Herectic I am happy that one of my cars inspired you to finally post
My moulds were not made of a bit of sawn timber!;)

i want to do a car like that, i have a BMAx and the possibility to machine my own parts. So why not asking you for help with a part you already constructed!:p

Good work on this, you took an existing car and made it better, not many modifications in this section do that!

Very impressive fabrication.

Haha, that's what i assumed. Mind sharing the technique ? What do you use for mould, fiber, resin, etc...

Rebelrc 28-02-2011 09:56 PM

I am working on a dex410 like this car
Should be ready early next week!

Rebelrc 01-03-2011 08:06 AM

Sorry heretic missed that post.
Sorry I can't answer that question really as I use many methods and am not sold on any of them
Plus I would like to do this on a commercial level and can't give away secrets

But basically buy some resin and some twill , make a mould stick in the twill with the resin and waaalllaaa! Let it set .... Job done
+ carbon and resin is very dangerous to work with !
Sorry I can't help
Cheers

Sorry but I have not got the dex done yet as had a rather big total lack of Rc enthusiasm recently:(
But kind of back on it now
Cheers

Rebelrc 24-11-2011 07:41 PM

I have recently been emailed regarding making someone one of these and did say no cause he was going to just shelf queen it ,but then he offered me proper money so I am dusting off the moulds
If anyone else fancies a weird bit of Rc exotica that goes really well :) pm me as my email on here is no longer working lol
Many thanks

Rebelrc 25-11-2011 11:09 PM
