It looks like a copy of a yokomo. I bet it's a top quality car and you seem too get a fair bit in the kit but it's certainly very yokomo like. Be interesting too see how people think it drives in comparison to the yokomo.

Looks awesome... no question, I will definitely be ordering one.

But I have to say I'm a little dissapointed that they've not incorporated some Xray anodised orange into the mix for the final production kit?

Only a small thing that I know wont have any bearing on the performance... but would take the look of the car to another level.

I like it, looks a top product, with a few more secrets to unlock VS the Yokomo, so not a copy, a revised take on the industry craze of low CG lay down cars, very nice indeed, as for copies, what isnt a copy these days, hardly a surprise, and manufacturers would be kinda silly to not go with what seems to be working.

2 choices 🙉
Never run on dirt, but do run on low grip surfaces!

Need more info, how's the low grip car run on high grip and vice versa

Is the lack of a 'national a-finalist' UK Team Driver going to hold them back?

Bent is very helpful, but he is in a different country.

So its happened buggies are gone the way of touring cars now
Sad times the yokomo was the first schumacher have always done things a bit differently look.
Xray have had too many xb2 prototypes and rather than creating something new theyve just played it safe very underwhelmed by this car.

There is a big difference in the creation of different composite parts, layout and chassis flex when it comes to designing for different track surfaces than just motor placement.

I had the Losi 22 and it was a terrible car no matter the configuration. I think they greatly improved it with later versions of it but I never owned the other versions. Will be interested in seeing how easy this is to drive although doesn't make sense to get one now for the rainy greasy wet weather coming up, but I'll get one in the spring time.

Must admit, that is a really nice touch. Accessing the diff Of a 2wd is always a pain but that is great.

ralphee 22-11-2015 11:53 AM

That is a nice touch, YZ2 was a pig to switch out lol, yeah just a direct copy eh hehehe, they looked good at the EOS too!

Plenty of other manufacturers have copied Xray's winning designs in the past... its common practice in all forms of racing... even F1 teams spy on the other cars on the grid to try and replicate successful designs to improve performance!

The Yokomo is a feckin fast car so if thats what the XB2 'resembles' it can only be a good thing. The difference will be that the Yokomo cars are cheap and brittle and the Xray is quality and extremely strong.

I'd take a good car built well over a good car built badly, any day of the week!

I think they have built a safe car which will be the same as the very good 4wd car they already have.
I have a KYOSHO rb6 and before this not even thought of selling it but I do think might be time to order myself a Xmas present
I don't think X-ray can please everyone but if look at what they have been doing for a long time is trying to get it right.

Look at the videos bent posted a very long time ago now which would suggest they want to get the car right before selling them.
Most manufacturers would not have held back just before Xmas to add a different gearbox position they would have just released another car in 6 months

3 minutes???

It was 4 minutes in a early post. Was 1 minutes spent on taking the picture and doing the Facebook post.

Next thing, Xray will be accused of coping other manufactures and using 12mm hexes. If I design a car it's going to have 13mm hexes. No one has those yet.
