What surface do you race on?

My first off road car in over 10 years and my first ever 2WD, I'm a touring car racer at heart.
Pretty standard, a few option parts and painted by myself.
Cant wait to try it now ;)

My B5M low rider sitting on the bench at yesterday's NORC race at the Intermodellbau hobby show. Worked great for me, so quick between the driver errors!

and your gearbox looks so clean. mine was grubby before i had finished putting it together.
note to anyone else who gets one, wash your hands properly every time you want to touch the low rider gearbox as it picks up dirt amazingly easily.
am very very pleased with mine though.

Two solutions:

1. Use clear lacquer/automotive spray paint before you stain it - it'll keep the dirt out of the pores.
2. If it's already dirty, use a black permanent marker - the porous outside surface will soak up everything you put on there, so it's easy to colour

Thanks Paul.
I should have painted it first, but was too keen to get it installed.
I may colour it in, but quite like it in white.

Trust me, it is not as clean as it looks on the picture. Using Dryfluid instead of black grease helped a bit, though. ;)

Anyone know off hand if the Low Rider transmission uses the 5x10 bearings on the top shaft or the larger 6x12?

richm 19-04-2015 07:20 AM

6x12

Team Associated B5M Lite

My Team Associated B5M Lite, that's as much of the buggy as I can assemble just now. I still need: wheels, tyres, inserts & an esc but they'll have to wait for now. Servo is on the way :)
