Having checked the website I've not found what the craic is with vintage and trucks this year.

G what's the score?

If it's no lipo, no vintage and no truck, Sarah will happy to see me every sat night this winter afterall.

Richard Lowe 10-09-2008 10:26 PM

I ran my truck in 2wd last time Dan, if there's enough we can get a heat going :)

Northy 11-09-2008 08:08 AM

Danneth,

The committee said that the vintage class was not supported enough last year so they do not want to run it this year.

They have also not seen enough support for trucks yet to have a specific class for them also - but what Rich says is right.

However - the 540 class has been opened up to any chassis running a sealed can motor. I know this might not be ideal but I'm tempted to run my Procat in that class with a really light battery :woot:

If i can get a lipo to go bang and take someones eye out from 30 yards will it be deemed safe to use just like an IB cell? :woot:

G, discussed with Jim. Neither of us fancy running vintage with a sealed can as it's too slow, you never know though! However as my Lipo was the only battery I have that fits (stick pack) I'm kind of forced out anyway. Jim and I said we'd consider running in 2wd mod with RC10's for the Craic, that would be good.

If a truck heat can be created if enough people turn up an any particular night then that sounds good. Annoyingly I was planning on running Lipo in that too, though it's perhaps not essential to me.

If it becomes the norm for people to run 'light' batteries and it overlooked I'll be much more keen to come along / essential to me running vintage.

The committee want shooting. The only week the vintage wasn't well supported last year was when G etc were at a wedding or something so no one could be bothered with 4 or 5 drivers missing.

Northy 11-09-2008 01:02 PM

It did fall awkward for me last year, I think I was away at a wedding one weekend and on holiday for another. I just managed to do the minimum number of rounds.

It is a pity, and we can always ask for it to be reinstated at the AGM

I was being flippant rather than seriously stating the commitee needed replacing :o

I'm a batley member so its nowt to do with me and I'll poke my nose out again  It was just that the vintage has been fun over the past two years and always supported well enough for a strong heat

Hi a mate has said that i could use his RC10 B2 for a bit - does this come under vintage???

If so then would the only way to run it be with a 540 motor in it ??

Looking to come on the 18th of October how much will it be for us to race he has a Pred x10.

Cheers G

Mike Hudson 06-10-2008 03:15 PM

there is no vintage class this season so you can use what motor you like and it's £5 a person for non-members

chrispattinson 06-10-2008 03:19 PM

I think I'll stick my head in at York this Saturday night. I see it's 4WD championship night. Is this the class I should be trying my hand at on Saturday, or is 2WD more popular?

Mike Hudson 06-10-2008 03:20 PM

4wd is most popular espec on champs nights Chris

mattym0310 06-10-2008 05:32 PM

As mike said, 4wd is usually the more popular class.

Prices are as follows (per class):
U16 member: £3
U16 non-member: £4
Adult member: £4
Adult non-member: £5

GOLDGPR 07-10-2008 08:49 AM

Thanks for the reply! should see you on the 18th might pop in on the champ night too.

chrispattinson 07-10-2008 10:19 AM

Thanks Mike / Matty, most probably see you on Saturday night, looking forward to it.
