John, you will be needing MUCH less tire than that on the DB1 mate ... I'm not a fan of stagger ribs but ran them just about everywhere on the DB1.

They were just some lazer ones I had kickin about for the piccy staggers cut staggers and wheels are in the post :)

I would try Losi blue front spring Col, way better, especially steering.
I use the SB tower, didn't have the BB one.

Mine resting while our track is being rebuilt, please keep in mind you need to
race yours often or she will become damn rude :woot:
You'll be warned.

Looks nice. Similar colours to mine, but different design.
Who did your stickers?

NitroArgi 05-09-2012 07:18 AM

Yeah who did the stickers? I could use some ORCA stickers cause the original are crap!

TomTom - assume that if you are using the standard (non-WC) front tower you are using the tall (RB5 spec) shop tops but the standard (not long) lower rod ends! If you are using the longer rod ends you will have waaaaayyyyyyyy too much front droop and that might explain why your having to run such heavy front springs.

Just a thought :)

coleman758 05-09-2012 11:51 AM

I run the Normal front tower, small ball ends & Short caps.
After playing around with all 3 this seems to be the best.

Running BB shocks too, just dremel the edge of the tower for extra Clearence.

I run the car Sunday, on mildly bumpy astro.
All I can say is it was pretty near perfect.

coleman758 05-09-2012 12:01 PM

Also,
I run kit 5-hole pistons in the front, with 40wt Losi Oil, and Orange XG06 springs

RogerM 05-09-2012 04:11 PM

Sounds sensible to me Coleman :)

I prefered the longer caps but that is what makes the Kyosho stuff so brilliant ... however you want your car to feel ... they have a part for that ;)

tomtom 05-09-2012 07:02 PM

I tried a lots of things on the RB5 platform since the first Vega RB5.

Always found SB better until I tried those Losi front springs. These are quite hard and may be fine tuned but allow to keep fast direction changes and good steering.

I used RB5 long tops and short ballcups and checked I was about the same as SB. I also use 25mm screws on top to clear the tower (but bent some on hard floors).

More droop on the rear is better Roger ?

That might not be the best setup but it's mine and the car is totally dialed for my driving and that's something :woot:

coleman758 05-09-2012 08:08 PM

Everyone else's setup is abit immaterial,
If the car drives right for you, you have got the setup right!

I Couldnt tell ya mate they came on a 2nd hand lazer bought

coleman758 10-09-2012 02:05 PM

Yep that would make sense, Get hold of some RB5 wheels, Cut the inner bead down, and run Low Profile cut staggers.

The car will be really bad with those on.

gixxer 10-09-2012 03:01 PM

See the second post down on tris page
