Hi, can I please just ask all Voodoo Customers, do they mind me using their posts as testimonials?

Thanks for the help,

Hey Doc.

The cells are great. I am really happy with them you guy's are doing a great job. I will be ordering some more from you before the start of the national series. I will also quite happily recomend them to anyone that asks.

Hog 24-01-2007 09:41 AM

Dr. Voodoo - can we have your thoughts on the claims that IB cells don't last anything like as long as GP's, and are more fragile, as mentioned here:

http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2050

Thanks! ;)

DR VOODOO 26-01-2007 01:34 PM

HOG the ib cell is more fragile than the gp 4300 it does not like to go below 1 volt . But it also can be used manytimes in the same day as long as it has time to cool down to room temp THE CELLS PRODUCE ALOT OF POWER OVER THE GP some folks dont notice it in offroad because of low grip but on high bite surfaces they rock!!!!! i do have packs with 20 plus runs on them with no problem. would i rather have a gp cell that last longer yes but thats like asking a race car driver if they want a 4 cylinder that will last long or an turbo charged v 8 that will last the lengh of the race. what do you think they will choose?

Elliott Hopkins 26-01-2007 01:40 PM

So we shouldn't discharge packs to 5.4V or 0.9V per cell?

Are you suggesting we dicharge to 1V per cell?

Elliott.
p.s. I have some of your cells coming to me from TYRC.

It depends if the driver is paying for the V8 out of his own pocket.........

Surely there would be no issue of a GP4300 lasting the duration of a race? What chance would an IB4200 have? In theory the GP should have greater capacity?

I'm not flaming anyone - I just think that consideration should be given to the average guy in the street who has to finance his racing out of his own pocket as well as balance a mortgage, kids, car etc etc. Claims of massive power are very enticing, but not if they leave Joe Average struggling because the cells need replacing every 4 months or so......

You say you have cells with 20 runs on them with no problem. Wow!:o My Orion GP3700's are 21 months old and just losing their edge now (well over 100 cycles each). I was all for IB4200's but I'm pretty certain (as I race offroad) I'll be heading back to GP4300 or even GP4600 if they are out by the time I get the money together.

Thanks for your answer anyway Doc.

Chris Doughty 26-01-2007 02:15 PM

a common miss-conception is that the GP4300 is a 4300mAh cell, ITS NOT, its a 4100mAh cell called a '4300'... read the small print on the cell...

Thats really dumb lol, I thought they were actually 4300's, obviously not lol.

Glad I only buy, and sell Voodoo IB's.

;)

Also, I would just like to point out ,I am a privateer, and have found Voodoo Cells to be awesome. If I didn't find them good value for money, and great in performance terms, do you think I would really sell them?

;)

Chris Doughty 26-01-2007 02:57 PM

to be honest, its far from Dumb, its very clever of GP, they basically 'beat' IB by releasing a lesser (capacity wise) product and calling it a different 'name'

Thanks for your answer anyway Doc.

Hell, it's nice to see someone else on this forum who thinks like I do !
I nearly bought some IB's and would have gone through with it had Dr Voodoo's site worked properly on the day. Alas for whatever reason it didn't so my order never went through. I'm a bit of an impulse purchaser, and when you see claims of this and that on oople, you think, yes, i'll have a bit of that. Thankfully I did some research, read some more, spoke to people and then drew my own conclusions. As I do have to dig into my hard earned pocket for cells, I won't be buying IB's from any supplier. I'll wait and get some trusty GP's.

So what if they aren't quite there in terms of raw performance, a number of people on oople repeatedly claim they can get there cars going 'far' faster than they actually need to for a race, such is the excess power we have today, they even have to drop the odd wind or 2 ! Well I don't suffer from this terrible problem, but hopefully with the introduction of brushless and some nice new cheap unmatched GP's i'll be sort of on the pace and I won't have to worry about mishandling them, or them blowing up and such like, or hopefully break the bank.

BenG 26-01-2007 03:58 PM

Obviously then these cells are for people who want to have more power, and WIN.

These cells are cheaper than the GP's, they are on offer in the tyrc shop this week at £35 per pack.

For the price, I cannot argue with my 5 packs, and will be buying more soon ;)

I agree that the cells from Voodoo are very well priced, my point old lad is simply that i'd rather my £35 on cells that don't go off after a few meetings.

The last sets of GP 3700's I bought this time last year were bang on £30 and are still well decent, in fact if I can't get anymore i'll run these this year. If money were no object then yes i'd buy a set for each meeting, or whatever, you get the picture, but I work and have a family, so I like to buy stuff that lasts a while. Anyhow, bring on Lipo, that's the future for me.

My Voodoos are still getting me into the A final after 5-6 months :o

bigred5765 26-01-2007 04:32 PM

for me its not the added performance ibs give, we changed from 3300/3700 to 4300 this year, we can now run 11 or 12 turn motors were the year before we were running 10s, and have seen no real loss in performance or speed, gps just last 3-4 times longer than ibs and thats what counts for me, i don't wanna be buying 2-3 sets of cells every year.

Andy, you're believeing too much negative hype if you think these cells go off noticably after a few meetings. I've had mine since the summer and they are still great.
