Yet another great day at TORCH (the weather didn't hurt...). sorry I had to shoot off before the presentation, family issues:(

Gotta hand it to the committee, 70-some drivers and we got four rounds plus three leg finals and still finished at a reasonable time. Ace work guys, good balance of laid back atmosphere but keeping things moving.

Here's for more fun over the winter:thumbsup:

summer series

Really enjoyed racing through the summer (was there a summer?) at Torch.

The summer series was fantastic and a credit to all who organised it.

Thanks to Martin who soldered a new motor into the durango. Unfortunetly, My hpi flux 5.5t motor decided to destroy itself so only managed to finish 1 qualifying round. Other than that, the 410r was quick and when working a really great car to drive.

Looking forward to the charity race and the winter series.

James, did you trace the prob?

Not really Mike. Drivetrain seemed free enough and the gearing was ok. I used a 21t pinion and dropped to 19t. Timing advance was also set to 0. Holes were cut out on both sides of the shell. Steve had a good look at it and he couldnt spot anything obvious.

Going to order a different bodyshell and double check everything and go from there.

Fantastic days racing and congratulations to the club for running a slick meeting with 4 rounds and 3 leg finals for all. Finish time was about right. Thanks to all those who came a long way as I think there was a lot of great competition.

Thank you guys for a cracking meeting, you run a brilliant club.

Fingers crossed for a regional meeting next year.

Cheers,

took the camera but it stayed in the car... just not enough time in the morning, and in the afternoon the lighting was a bit dull/flat...

The Chef 26-09-2011 10:20 PM

New track will be fabulous. Some real technical bits would be tops but can we keep the long straight. PPPPPlease:p

I'm sure it will be tops no matter what. Can't wait. New obstacles too:thumbsup:

simoncrabb 27-09-2011 11:11 AM

Hey Martin, can we start a thread for track design discussion? Can you post a diagram of the new layout for racers input?

Briangb 27-09-2011 01:30 PM

Have to say I pretty much agree with everyones comments. This year (think I started in April) has been my first experience of 1/10th Electric, having been playing with 1/8th nitro for a couple of years. My skill level has progressed, but extremely slowly as I am usually restricted to 1 race per month. I want to get to a level where I can actually race, and not just driving around trying to better my previous lap time. However, 1/10 has been my saviour, along with a long list of people too big to mention individually, who have supported me with their help, enthusiasm and experience. Most of you will know who you are. But in case you don't; Byrners, Chris Slevin, Hollywood, RCLazy x2, all of the Clanfield Massive for your banter and friendship, and apologies to any I have left out. Sorry Dudders, I should include you especially for your thoughtfullness in providing rain protection.
I know I have gone on a bit, but these thing need to be said.
The atmosphere at TORCH has been incedible. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Series and cannot wait for the Winter Series to start. To all the crew at TORCH, keep up the work. It is very much appreciated.
2wd for me over the winter. What have I let myself in for. Bring it on.
