A sneak peek at the track for tomorrows regional..

Looking really good

chrispattinson 14-05-2011 09:14 PM

Yeah, can't wait, do you its possible to double it?

chris68nufc 14-05-2011 09:20 PM

Quite possible, i would rather finish 5 minutes though than break it on the last lap ramping it!!

Cant wait now!

Shifta 14-05-2011 09:24 PM

Don't think so.. Maybe if you go really wide on the corner before?? Only Chris had his car and he blew his speedo after a couple of minutes..
The surface is really loose but will get better after a few cars have been around. It probably have been a good idea to get hold of a garden roller! (mental note for next time..)

chrispattinson 14-05-2011 09:27 PM

Looking forward to tomorrow, good effort everyone, sorry I couldnt be there. Cheers for the video Jeff. See you in the morning.

nobby 14-05-2011 11:44 PM

so that car and driver arn't scoring points as they have practiced on a regional track before the event.

Shifta 15-05-2011 05:45 AM

The track needs to be tested!

Chequered Flag Racing 15-05-2011 06:19 AM

Won't make it today, sorry guys

Have a good day

Gemma 15-05-2011 06:37 PM

A BIG thank you to everyone today who organised and ran the meet. Bill you were a saint.

Just wanted to thank everyone for attending the first North East Regional 2011. Personally thought it was a great success, and it ran like clock work.

Bring on RHR :)

Gemma & Kash

Shifta 15-05-2011 09:13 PM

Yep.. Really enjoyed today and hope everyone else did too!
Can't say I heard anyone complaining about anything so we must've done something right :)
Massive thanks to everyone who helped during the weekend.. We couldn't have done it without you all

hazzelarator 15-05-2011 11:41 PM

Yeah I'l 3rd/4th the above. Thanx to everyone who helped out and made it possible, theres a load of behind the scenes work that goes into these events that I had very little involvement in this year, so thanx to Bill Jeff, Chris etc etc etc & The Seaham club as an entity + all its members for lending lots of the kit and mainly for all the guys for putting in the leg work throughout.
I hope everyone enjoyed the racing, I know I did despite personally driving like someone who cant drive a greasy spoon up a dogs behind. Hopefully see you all at some future events and a big thanx for keeping everything tidy! Loads better than last year. :)

baD 16-05-2011 12:26 AM

some results (unofficial) to play with :-))

Out put from today's (sorry yesterday's) event - still to be ratified by the NE rep etc -

www.pureinsite.co.uk/nercr/results/2011-NE-Regionals

On behalf of NERCR and myself, I hope everyone had a brilliant time, I certainly did. No matter that perhaps racing (if you can call it that) and trying to do Race Control is not a normal way to have fun, I'd do it again just to share the banter and humour with everyone there.

It appears I have been called a 'Saint' in a post above. I've heard people say Je%$& Chr*&$ when they saw me, but never a saint - and you wouldn't have said that if you could read lips when my wheel came off in the 4wd Final :( - I reckon it was sabotage from The Hazz cause he thought I'd beat him ! ;)

Did any one else get asked "Why do you smell of horse?" when they got home? I didn't get time to go near them !

Great Drivers, great driving, great day - thanks to everyone.

Mike Parker 16-05-2011 07:41 AM

Thought I'd just drop a quick note to say thanks for a fantastic meeting, ran like clockwork & pretty happy on the B result

Loved the double in front of the rostrum, but I was just way too gay to get air on the tabletop :woot:

See you guys at the next one @ RHR

Mike P.

AfroP 16-05-2011 07:43 AM

i've said it in another thread but i'll say it here as well.
Thanks to everybody for organising and running the regional. it was a massive amount of fun.
It was only my 2nd ever race meeting but it was great fun. cant wait for the next one!

wacattack 16-05-2011 10:39 AM

My first time here and I loved it! Surface was great to race on and a nice change from astro/grass.

Thx for that - good to hear.

So in case we do it again, what are the tyres of choice for the surface?

I found the Schumacher yellow mini spikes to be perfect on a 2wd
seemed most others were using the same.

would love to race there again, the surface was fantastic (even if it did get everywhere)

Mike Parker 16-05-2011 03:28 PM

Running in 4wd I found the dboots multibytes to work extremely well for the practise & for the first 2 rounds, I swapped over to yellow minis afterwards once the line got packed down...

I ran yellow minis in 4wd and yellow minis/staggers in 2wd. Craig was running DBoots and TQ'd both classes so they seem to work pretty well too

ben 16-05-2011 05:28 PM

Well run event, surface was cool to race on aswell!
And also well done to Craig and Greg on their wins

Ben

I'm sure Harry won't mind me saying this but he was hoping to run a few meetings in the future, probs better to be a winter series?? Now that some of the 'top guns' have been and raced then they may spread the word, I know that the venue is pretty well north however if the venues good then I'm sure people will turn up!

Any thoughts?

dpackster1980 16-05-2011 08:29 PM

I loved it, it was a good day and it was seriously close in Qualifying. I'm gutted I missed out on the A final.

The surface changes all of time which made things interesting grip was never the same from round to round.

The more racing there the better, no tyre wear at all absolutely perfect.

I'd happily race there every week if I could, so I'd defo be up for more of the same.
besides, somebody has to bring up the rear :D

hazzelarator 17-05-2011 02:46 PM

Cheers Chris, Yeah we have enough stuff to host smallish club events at the arena on a fairly regular basis, obviously theres nothing to stop us dragging the ropes out onto the fields or dirt out side for the odd event too. Perhaps a winter series would be best? Would be great to do a small series with 2 rounds a month over the winter?
