It would be terrible if that happens. There must be some security fence that could be put around the whole site although don't know if they would fund it. A brand new track will be too tempting to any local chavs after a bottle of white lightning..

Can you walk ????..............then you're old enough.

Si Coe 21-03-2011 04:56 PM

I think the youngest we've had recently was something like 5, but Dave's lads 3 and he's trying to get him going.

I thought I could teach my lad to drive before he can walk, but so far he just chews on the transmitter.....

Chrislong 22-03-2011 03:37 PM

Whats happening with the pitting space? Are they allowing cars to park on the field, or laying down some tarmac trackside, or use the current carpark?

Ive been down and had a look today, the shapes of features look very good and interesting!

Si Coe 22-03-2011 06:27 PM

We should be parking on the main carpark and have some hard standing to pit on alongside the track. But that was ages ago so whether that is still the case remains to be seen

Chrislong 22-03-2011 06:54 PM

That'd be okay. Just thinking the field owners got funny when there was a big event on and the field got turned into a parking lot/pikey pitch.

looking forward to having a run on this track when it is finished - it's good to see a new track being built in the Northwest.

The region is now a long way away from the one track regional series the Northwest had a few years back when bury decided they were in the north east! :woot:

cr1tch 23-03-2011 08:17 PM

yeah you can see tire marks and a beer bottle as well

cr1tch 23-03-2011 08:19 PM

Bury have never been in the North East! We opened up our track for other regions to use. If you remember we had both regions race on our track that year!:p

captainlip 24-03-2011 07:54 PM

club day?

does this mean bury is a weekly meet? :woot:

Si Coe 24-03-2011 08:44 PM

In the summer yes - except for regional weekends its every week. Weather permitting that is. Last year rain stopped play quite often, but hopefully the new track will dry faster and water won't pool on the main straight, so we can race even if its wet.

captainlip 24-03-2011 08:53 PM

awesome stuff!

The race controller 24-03-2011 10:26 PM

Remind me to put attendance and rain on the calendar......Just a thought I've just had. And yes, I washed my hands.

I went down to the track to have a look yesterday afternoon and the amount of BMX tyre tracks in the sand is quite large. I bet they all think they are getting a skate park! Idiots
