Hi guys,

I got mine yesterday and built it immediately. Just have to assembly the shocks.

My first comment: Oh yeah! AE did a great job. The car makes a better impression comparing it to the old one, especially the quality of every part.

I don't regret have replaced my old b4 by the new one :)

Any actual time improvements on track. Love my b4 but nowhere near as fast as my cougar. Would switch to 4.1 if it really makes a difference

Timee80 04-09-2010 10:42 PM

nobody willing to shout its praises:confused:

I can't shout anymore - I have lost my voice - personally I have seen loads of improvements on track

mikeyscott 06-09-2010 08:18 AM

We have the Westwood brothers racing at our track. Jay is struggling with his B4 yet Glenns's 4.1 looks great. Both cars are running very similar set-up and I put it down to the 4.1

It's not quite there for beating a Cougar SV at our track yet (Well a Cougar SV in the hands of SteveB etc.) Perhaps I should suggest Glenn and Steve swap for a meeting.... (then again Glenn would break the SV.)

RudeTony 06-09-2010 08:39 AM

I Glenn listens to me (hint hint Glenn) and adds the weight like I told him then he will be flying - LOL :)

B4.1 is equipped with 75t spur gear? Is it 48 pitch spur gear?? Anything I need to look up for setting up b4.1?

Durango 06-09-2010 06:09 PM

Hi,

81/23 with a SpeedPassion 8.5 - Runs great!

The new B4.1 Kit includes 75 and 81 Spur gears (48 pitch).

Interesting - which speedo are you using Tony please, and set-up how? I'm asking as it looks like a pretty long gearing, you are probably using a fixed timing Esc, aren't you?

thanks
Paul

so some moderate variable timing - thanks.

LOL @ the weight comment :D

flipside 07-09-2010 12:25 PM

Does it have variable timing? I thought the programs were just some power curves.

jaywestwood 07-09-2010 04:31 PM

comparing the b4 to the b4.1..... our cars are identical in set up and my b4 is very inconsistent and tbh a real handful at time's!!!! i ran glen's b4.1 for a few VERY consistent and VERY easy to drive laps. Its clear there are massive improvements in the car!!!! more track time/knowledge and steve will be under pressure:)

KRob 07-09-2010 05:03 PM

Hopefully the language in the air wasn't quite as blue when you were driving that one then...:p

Hi Guys

Looking at getting back into 2WD off road.

Just placed my order from MB Models for a RC10B4.1

Have you any setup tips with running a Tekin RS Pro.

What motor would be a good start as I have not raced off round for some years now. I was looking at a 5.5

Is there any mods or parts that would be recommended.

Any help much appreciated

Cheers

Mark

flipside 08-09-2010 07:24 PM

No way!!!

7.5 max, especially if you start again. I usually run 8.5 on dirt, 7.5 on astro. many people run 9.5 even on astro...

DragonRider 08-09-2010 08:08 PM

Thanks flipside that could have been a expensive mistake.

Also pinion wise I only have 64dp what would be a good range of 48dp pinions to get me started.

Thanks again.

Mark

For a 7.5-9.5 motor is say 23-27. Won't be far off

Grundy 13-09-2010 10:05 PM

in relation to the crystal clear gear cover; i spoke to team associated and they said that it will use the same part number as the "clear" gear cover (7461).

the crystal clear covers will only become available when the clear ones are sold (which could take months).

The Pookster 15-09-2010 09:26 PM

People may already know this but the new B4.1 rear toe blocks refer to toe for each rear wheel, i.e a 3.0 block has 3 degrees toe in per wheel. This means a 2.5 block with 0.5 hub is 3 deg per wheel, same as old B4.

I thought block was total toe (sum of both rear wheels) until I measured it.

lynx75 26-09-2010 09:06 PM

Hi All,

any suggestions about extra weight to add in the new B4.1 please.

In my previous B4 I used 10gr on the servo plus 27gr in the rearward. I supposed to use a weight in the rearward plus 50gr or 80gr under the battery.

Are weights useful for indoor track too?

thanks

70g under the servo and 84g under the lipo - use a bulkhead of 25g like the Ghea one for high grip and remove it for low grip - for indoor use you can reduce the weight a lot as it's not bumpy etc etc

Im impressed too. Had my first run this saturday (bumpy astroturf) and it was really nice. No weights, just stock

Thank you HTC for such a crappy camera

Noobie

Hi all

Noobie by name and nature, got into the addictive world of rc a couple of months ago, and after a visit to Eden Park Raceway-Winter Warmer last week, decided to sell my 1/10th and 1/8th buggies and invest in this thread model.

Thought would be brave and go for a self build as v good way to get to know the car, my main question though, is, what brushless set up would you guys recommend? Will in future be used at EPR so racing in mind.

Many Thanks all :)
