The front Atomic Carbon tower is 5mm thick (1mm thicker than the rear tower). It's the beefiest carbon fiber part I have ever used.. You could throw your Durga off a cliff and that tower will not break.

Got my front tower today and it is a beefy bit of kit

Here`s some pictures for people

I have order a front tower. I'll let you know how it goes.

Update!

Mine split on the front lower ball stud!! after a crash and tbh it wasn`t one of my worst but it split the carbon... think i`ll stick with stock

Ordered the rears on 29th and still waiting  should be ok the rear`s as the wing protects them and TRF501 shocks fit apparently better

(Thanks for the update Jonathan!)

I have ordered a front one to try. I have in mind that sooner or later I will split it, but carbon looks cool in the car.
I think that the front tower gets most of the hits in the DB01. But as I am using now the centre one way and the car behaves as a 2wd, it seems that seems things are changing..Anyway, those cheap plastic towers are the best option for me, as I am not a good driver and jumps are not easy where I run.

I just mount mine (front and rear)...

Could somebody tell me how many spacer he puts to mount the suspension on the rear one? It seems that I need 5mm to make the cylinder vertical!

Make sure to seal the edge of the carbon fiber with a couple layers of super glue (tire glue is fine) before you mount the part on your car. If you do, then it is nearly impossible for the carbon fiber to de-laminate.

I did this to both the front and rear Atomic Carbon shock towers. I have crashed and flipped many times.. Both towers are as solid as a rock.

Front Tower

Has anyone noticed that the top mounting holes on the front tower are actually lower than the stock tower? I didn't notice until I compared the two on top of each other. Well, I actually only noticed when the chassis would not bottom out - I installed the newer HL shock bodies, used 4mm spacers inside the shocks & saw that the buggy bottomed out on the lower spring collars, and the chassis still sat around 1 cm above the table! The difference between the holes of the towers is maybe 2mm, but once on the buggy it made a huge difference. So I've switcvhed back to the stock tower.

There might be enough room to drill one or two new holes above the stock hole locations - I may try it, the part is not much use to me otherwise.

FYI - I'm racing on carpet indoors. Maybe it's not as noticeable on dirt where more travel is used?

Comments?

I used to use one of these on my DB01, the extra droop was very useful, but agreed, indoors on carpet it might not be too handy.

I think the lowered shock tower was with the kit shocks in mind, which were arguably too short and didn't give enough droop.

I ran the lowered shock tower and the TRF shocks with success.
