RLGfx 05-12-2012 04:59 PM

sweet! I am now officially ace... :D

it was either this for my guess, or that the chassis was made of potassium...

RobW 05-12-2012 05:01 PM

That looks seriously cool. New Xray looked a little plain to me all in black but this seems to carry it off.

Must keep repeating to myself - "I do not need a new 4WD, I do not need a new 4WD....."

Rob

matdodd 05-12-2012 05:07 PM

thats the cats bollocks..

Howler 05-12-2012 05:33 PM

Small bore shocks running big bore springs? Seems a bit daft.

minimini 05-12-2012 05:42 PM

similar to Tamiya DB01 drive-train

hansie 05-12-2012 05:50 PM

lovely

Hello all,

Lovely :wub:wub:wub

Looks like the option to play with diff height has been removed.
Slipper adjustment on the opposite side of the spur.
The Fab system won't work on this car I think.
Suspension arms, hubs etc same as the SX3
Bando's included from the get go.
Clean steering assembly etc etc
All in all a simple robust clean design wich will be easier to
wire than the SX3, count me in!
Can a team driver show one with the electronics in it?

Hans

mark christopher 05-12-2012 05:50 PM

not when you see most of the top level guys are doing it

cryer-evo 05-12-2012 06:22 PM

OldTimer 05-12-2012 07:10 PM

First thing i thought of when i saw the rear sideon photo was it looks like one of my old Yok YZ10's :)

Really like the new all black look, and the lcg shocks are much better

What are the benefits of the small bore shock but with big bore springs?

Very good Carl :lol::lol::lol:

tomtom 06-12-2012 01:06 AM

I found the car awesome and considering it was the Cat that make me getting back to RC (always wanted one in the 90's and bought an SX that put me back on it for good), this one seems to be what I was expecting back then up to now.

The SX3 was very good but too complicated for me. This one seems simple yet more effective (2 belts, no eccentrics, etc).

Speaking of SB shocks, I ran some on my K cars for quite a while now because the car is more responsive and also (very important) jumps better on small jumps/whoops. Off course the BB do work great on big jumps and are more forgiving but on all but the very big jumps I felt the SB car kind of flow over the jumps. Don't know if that make sense but I kept coming back to them.

cryer-evo 06-12-2012 10:56 AM

Would it be possible to turn a sx 3 into a k1? With new chassis and top decks and relevant parts like belts ?

The K1 is Pin Drive just like the SX3!

bender 06-12-2012 01:55 PM

My last Cat was the SX or SX2, and it came with both pin and hex fittings for the front wheels. Can anyone confirm if the new K1 will be the same?
