No just DMS Darren phone link!!! I spoke to Ellis a few minutes before I was due to speak with Chazz, so naturally passed on the good news!!!

Ellis is indeed TQ and I believe that Pidge is second on the grid (or he at least TQd the last round)

Racers from the track will confirm the full details later today I am sure

3 New Math In Top 11, 5 in top 20

Congratulations also to Phil Channon who put it in The Show and to the newest of The Boyz, Tom Cockerill for winning the B!

Super Dan Greenwood was in the B too, and Andy Carter, returning to racing after a long lay-off with the X - 6, was also in the B, for FIVE New Math in the top 20!

col300 11-05-2008 06:59 PM

any results from today at all??

cheers.

YoungChazz 11-05-2008 07:19 PM

STAFFORD WINS 4WD TOO!!!!!

Proving again that the X - 5 remains the fastest car out there, Indoor Finals Champion Ellis Stafford won 4WD at Ozwestry to complete domination of the meeting!

Tom Cockerill also made The Show, Doing The Math for his new Team.

The Big E TQed one round of qualifying and took second in all the others to sit second on the grid. He took second in A - 1 and won A - 3 to take home the Ozfest crown for X Factory.

Incredible job E!!!

Jonesy 11-05-2008 08:38 PM

I'd like to echo the comments off everyone above.

Special thanks to Oswestry club and the club volunteers, special mention to Gareth Stanton for his sun burn on Thursday, silly boy!! Fantastic track and I really enjoyyed the jumps once I got used to them, get one st up on the Triangle track for Regionals now guys!

I'd like to thank the BRCA officials as always, it was a tricky weekend and there were some decisions made which I know didn't sit well with people, in fact I don't think there have been that many complaints at a National since I started doing them in 1996!!

On a personal note I thought it was a great weekend to be a ref, alot more penalties dished out this weekend than I've known as a ref but every single one (to my knowledge) were accepted by the drivers and marshalls - thank you!

2wd - managed to put it in the 'D' Final after nailing a 14th in Round 4, without my silly mistake on the In Lap it could have been a 9th with a bit of luck but a 14th is more than acceptable for me at the minute, shame it went with a 35th

4wd - Not as a good a day today and was down in the H Final, mainly to do with my lack of experiance adapting the BJ4 thoughout a meeting, but again I felt on a clean run I'm not that far behind a Top 30 spot in each round so I feel a still made progression despite taking a step back!

Finally, congrats to Ellis for his weekend. I'm not at Talli...... (South Wales I mean) so see you all at Eden Park unless you race in the Mid West in which case I'll see you next week :p

Mossy 11-05-2008 08:39 PM

Great meeting! Great track and some excellent finals! Bring on Tailywain!

Jonesy 11-05-2008 08:40 PM

Seems like you'd like to go back next year then Moss?

Mossy 11-05-2008 08:43 PM

Thought Oz put on a great meeting. Club members always helpful, with Channon & Ashley the un-sung hero's of the weekend. Cant fault it!

Lew 11-05-2008 08:46 PM

Absolutely quality weekend, Driving was alright on saturday, but was on form today, electrics && car let me down though(overheating and stupidly breaking)
Thanks to all the Oswes team for a great track.

Oswes has officially wrote off 2 of my cars now :o

top weekend, thanks boys

andy reeves 11-05-2008 08:58 PM

Really enjoyed today, Thanks to all the people making today happen and thanks for booking the sun :D Thought the track was interesting and a test for everyone. I did make one possible improvment to a club member. But that was only a slight suggestion. On a personal note i cracked the top 100 for the first time at a national :D

We added them up at the end of round 4 tricky ran his xx4 in the finals which put the xx4 one ahead but it doesnt really matter.

From a social side of things i really enjoyed myself met James Haliwell and trish and spoke to danny a fair bit. The quiz was ace there was me my parents my uncle and aunty, james oliver and mrs oliver jeff and berrol stanton and out of about 45 points we scored 10 :p I dont think we got any of the rc ones right. :p:p

Im glad i didnt race as i dont think it would have been as much fun.

Thanks to all the drivers who made our job so much easier through scruntineering, its not the most interesting job the world but everyone was cool with us looking under your shells and calling your cars bricks, buses, tanks etc etc...

Well done to the two A finalists who used cells from Stormforce Racing.. im just so very very proud..

Richard Lowe 11-05-2008 10:19 PM

Well done to the club and Danny for his gardening skills!

The 'jump issue' spoilt the day for me a bit today but this thread is not the place... :(

Cockerill 11-05-2008 10:24 PM

Very well done to the club, BRCA and all involved (Including Danny who cut the grass :p). It was a well run meeting on a good track with great weather.

I agree with Rich that the triple was not great for consistency, but hey, we live and learn. The track gets better each year so I look forward to an even better one next year.

I also noticed that the yellows I got today were much better than the ones I got at Kiddy

ben 12-05-2008 06:21 AM

Thanks to all involved. Good track... great weather .

Great commentary MCDC made the weekend alot more enjoyable.:p

Chrislong 12-05-2008 07:17 AM

I think Oz has come on a long way since 2 years ago, each year gets better. But the consistency of the two big jumps partially spoilt what was otherwise an ace track (I mean my ability on the 2nd to hit a microscopic down ramp - it was built well after the repair)

Brian Harris does a great job, but dare I say it - I want MCDC to be the full time MC! Its ace!!!!

Big thanks to McGee for doing the grass cutting, I think my comments regarding the track would have been negative now if it wasn;t for that.

Lee 12-05-2008 07:23 AM

Again thanks to the Oz team for all the effort and hard work, you did a top job:D

Both my cars were pretty crap but i had a great weekend and a lot of laughs, roll on talliwaingggfffggh:woot:
