I was expecting an ice rink track too so softened the RB5 up by a spring and 5wt all round .... ooopppssss mistake. LOL

Put it back to the "standard" generic set-up I have and went reasonably well with it, 2 x 5th in rounds meant 6th on the grid for the A ... had a bit of a battle with Robo after an "interesting" first lap. Not sure where I finished, middle to 3rd qtr I guess. A LONG way higher than I would have been with the B4 that is for certain!!!

Think Tom won it in the end .... not 100% though.

Looking forward to Kiddy now ... and Newbury then Cov again.

Haha... nah not quite, I was leading until 2 laps from home and then broke it! DOH. So many crashes today, it had to give up some time.

I enjoyed it today the Coventry track is really quite good when it's dry, but I MUCH prefer it ran anti-clockwise than the clockwise route we took today... that double in the middle is so much easier going the other way, the up slope is all deformed on the clockwise route lol can't think of a better way to describe it... but that is just my view.

See you all at Kiddy.
Tom

Tom your car looked awesome, no other word for it!!!

At one point it was looking like you might make 13 laps .... and there were only a couple people in the 12s and a couple more in 11s in 30x :o

Stunning to watch, would have loved to have watched the final ..... but was a little busy..... lol

Simon Overall won 2wd, I came in 3rd.:D

I managed to race 2 cars all day and not break anything, including a B44 on its maiden voyage in disguise as a BJ4. Std B44's were 4th (Stu Harlow) and 6th (Me)in the A ash, Atomized B44's and an aero were all that beat them I think.

Great track today. Must of been one of the only racers today who didn't break anything.
The doubles in the middle are very random. 1 lap get it right next lap take the same line and speed and end up crashing. Wonder if the wind has anything to do with it.
Atomized B44's looked great today as well as the Aero.
Bring on Kiddy next.

A day in the life of my XX4 at Coventry

R1- turnbuckle broke
R2- 4th in round!
R3- Bulkhead broke
R4- Servo decided she was going to have a hissy fit thus ending the day

On a positive note i packed up early and got home for the Carling Cup Final and for a bloody awesome result!

COYS! COYS! COYS!

If anyone heard my B44 today and wondered why it sounded like clockwork.. it was just the spur. Replaced it and it's as good as new. Talk of me needing new gear boxes were premature I am pleased to say :)

I agree Tom, the anti clockwise route is far better. I hardly messed up on the double four weeks ago but this time I had my buttox clenched eachtime I went over it... :woot: The fact you loose sight of the car just behind the first ramp does not help!

Is there not a BRCA rule about being able to see your car as it goes around the track??

I agree totally, IMO the clockwise double is a car breaker. Either run it anticlock or get those chappies that had there shovels out to reprofile it:)

Wouldn't that apply even if the track ran the other way round?? :p

only if you drive over it... if you nail it you can land in a visible piece of track :)

Found it hard work yesterday and didnt enjoy going that way arounnd. These double jumps seem to be appearing alot lately and for the top drivers they are easy but for us they are hard work to get right!!

You don't have to fly them, you could just roll them.
As proved by James Evans who qualified 2nd on the grid in 4wd.

GRIFF55 25-02-2008 06:57 PM

James was doubling wasn't he Bri?? I enjoyed the astro track, never raced on there before so i don't know any difference with the way round.
Very random bumps all over:thumbsup:
