I've just asked that question on the MK GP page.
I know that other tyres work on carpet but not sure on tread patterns and compound, need advice for both catergories (2wd&4wd)

mikeyscott 31-10-2011 09:13 PM

I know what I am running ;)

jamiekerr14 31-10-2011 09:17 PM

The standard bet is Schui Mini Pins-Yellow..

There may be another option, but from what I know thats what loads of people run, and what I ran at taplow. Im sure the new DBoots would be good, but no idea if they would be available before then.

mikeyscott 31-10-2011 09:18 PM

Doubt dboots. I hope they'll be deemed illegal due to supply. Marc will confirm.

Cammers 31-10-2011 09:29 PM

Thanks Jamie thats what I was thinking but really wondering if there is anything else out there. Didn't wont to turn up with pins and find everybody else on something else that may be better.

jamiekerr14 31-10-2011 09:31 PM

TBH think Mini pins are the ticket.. Thats what everyone at Taplow ran, and think most run on carpet tbh..

mikeyscott 31-10-2011 09:36 PM

I'll be taking mini pins, mini spikes and stagger for 2wd all in yellow compound

simoncrabb 31-10-2011 09:53 PM

Yellow minipins are the popular choice indoors.

But don't forget Ballistic minipins in white, green and pink.

And dBoots Terrabytes in A and B (we are checking on Nanobytes availability).

simoncrabb 01-11-2011 12:48 PM

The dBoots Nanobytes wont be available in time for the MK GP.

So we'll just have Multibytes and Terrabytes available in A and B.

mikeyscott 01-11-2011 12:51 PM

Time to ban them as I know some TD / rc dISCO drivers have them

hotrodchris 01-11-2011 06:08 PM

Got yellow pins already plus ordered 2sets of ballistic whites from RC Lazy as well

AmiSMB 01-11-2011 11:08 PM

You can always pop down to Bracklesham on a Wednesday evening for a test run as this carpet is also going to be used :) Mini pin yellow front and rear and for 2wd be prepared to cut a lot of pins off the front tyres.

So is everybody ready then? Who's going up when? Noticed some interesting heat seedings... Sunday's going to be a regular Torch Sunday as it seem we've been given our own heat :D

Cammers 17-11-2011 06:50 PM

I wll be there about 7.30 am both days, dont know why most torch boys are in lower 4wd heats, me and tony going to be lonely.

RobW 17-11-2011 07:19 PM

Both Jack's and my car all ready for Saturday. First run for the C4.1 - taking the 22 just case.

Luckily we are split a bit - heats 1 and 6 so no rushing around getting both cars on track. Would not be surprised if we are a lot closer come finals time - Jack got to grips with the carpet and jumps surprisingly quickly when we went to taplow a couple of weeks ago, well compared to me anyway:cry:

See you all early on Saturday - it's going to be a long weekend for you guys doing both days!!

Rob

Anyone going to Torch this Sunday or are you all going to the MK GP????.

MrMagoo 17-11-2011 08:06 PM

MKGP for me, Sunday only for me though  Just getting the Durango ready to go, rebuilding shocks and gluing up tyres. Can't wait for Sunday, its gonna be epic!

hotrodchris 17-11-2011 08:53 PM

Will pop up Saturday to see how the track is running and see if Cammers is on fire in 2wd like his 4wd!

wylie 18-11-2011 10:55 AM
