Tamiya don't list a slipper as a feature - and despite the widespread use of slippers in off-road racing, they are still a feature worth mentioning. Tamiya buggies don't generally come with slippers so its wise to assume this car doesnt- especially given the superb knowledge of some of the posters on this thread who know the slipper will be a hop-up sold seperately (just like the DF03)

whatever

Lazerboy is now banned after his PM to me. I am very patient when someone clearly doesn't know what they are talking about - and I appreciate the enthusiasm of someone like 'lazerboy' but at the end of the day if you can't respect the information of people that simply know more - then it's pointless.

if you don't like the comments, don't post.
If you olook at all the TAMIYA images, they don't show a slipper shaft poking out of either side of where the centre layshaft is, so no slipper unit! In the pics from the blog, that is probably a Tamiya Drivers car, with testing hop-ups, hence all the shinny blue bits. Why do you constantly have to challenge what we know? |
Never mind - he asked to be removed from the forum, so that's what I did. Let's get back to the topic of this thread anyway.. :)

hmm, will it handle a bl??thats the real question :)

slipper clutch one way and ujs are listed as hop up options
and i cant see any reason why it wont handle brushless as diffs...belts and pulleys are the same as the 501x according to the parts list will know soon as im having one :) |
It won't have a slipper because it's a Tamiya and it's not the R or MS version yet. ;)

I like the car, And I'm a sucker for Tamiya though I'm currently in sell mode rather then buy mode so I can't be sure yet if I'll get one.
I just wish that Tamiya had set their sites a little higher for this model, Imo its just too budget. Electric RC has moved on from the silver can motor, Good shocks and a slipper should be standard on a kit thats designed to be race capable. |

Colours are so so, but the shape of the shell is good! Hooray! The 501X is far and away the ugliest bodyshell I've seen in 29 years or racing... Also THE hardest to paint.
This one looks good! |

Another example that everyones taste is different. I think the TRF501X body is brilliant ! And I don't think the Durga body will fit the TRF501X |
Found these at rc-japan.de
They are labelled IFS but they look like the Durga to me. http://www.rc-japan.de/BigPics/ifs_1.jpg http://www.rc-japan.de/BigPics/ifs_2.jpg |
Exactly, I think that the car on those pictures is the DB01. I also wondering if this chasis is an evolution of the TA-05, some of the hop-ups por the TA-05 could fit on the DB-01. What do you think? :eh?:
Cheers |
Those pictures have got to be the Durga, touring cars don't come with slipper clutches.
