EPR doesn't have any regular club meetings either - :p

Personally, any club who is willing to put in the effort, work and commitment to be at least on a par with our current national and EOS venues gets my vote - local knowledge is total rubbish IMO - if anything, the added pressure of self expectation can cause drivers to try too hard.

Besides, that's the point of a national series - it does even itself out over the season unless of course you've got the funds and time available to become 'local' at each one for a few weeks before each national.

Obviously, being a soft southern shandy drinker whose scared of everything North of Watford, I'd clearly like all six to be at EPR please :woot: - Then everyone would be called a local:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Winter series meetings etc... they all count as practice!!! :p

Lets admit it we want the best tracks to race on and sadly there will be people who go well round them... ANDY (shaking stevens) !!!

Id like Bury Metro to be back on the calender, one of the best tracks around!

Truth is, even grass tracks marked out in a field can have a home advantage if you can be bothered. If I know roughly in the field where the track will be, I can go and test there (in an empty field) and dial my car for the basic surface even before the track is laid out.

The solution therefore is as mentioned to spread the tracks out around the country so most people are only ever local to one of them.


Of course this does lead to problems. Lots of people have mentioned Bury Metro, which is indeed a great track, but too near Southport. As a result, by alternating which you run at you can be 'local' to both and have 2 home track advantages. That means that one or other should get a national round, but not both.

I'm sure there would be people who would go to Southport & Bury, but I'm also sure there are people who go to Stotfold &EPO so they would have 2 local tracks aswell!

I don't think theres an easy answer to the whole home track advantage thing but I do agree with some comments that the track layout should be changeable.
I know at say Southport on one of the days they run the back section but the rest of the track changes substantially & stotfold although all the elevation changes stay the same the layout is always different because of how they build there track.

We will just have to wait an see who puts in for a national & go from there! We will be there where ever they are anyway;)

Yes.

Southport have regular club meetings, infact, we run week-in, week-out at either our outdoor venue or the indoor venue. Without the club meetings there would not be a National venue.

With some hard work we hope to get Titchfield on the map for 2010, certainly 2011
