the supercup will be great ;)

tomorrow and the other club meeting on 1st should be good practice for it and to remember how to get the cars set up for the hall. Must be about 9 months since we last raced there

Gurdy,

any space in the car with you? I'm not keen on the idea of driving all the way up there in the Mini and it's all I will have available! It's about 45 mins drive north for me to get to you + waht you have to do.

don't know if it has already been covered but what lipo rules is the event running to? do we have to use cells from the 2009 list or not??

sorry if it has already been covered in the thread.

Hopefully the rules are as that, I don't think the saddle Lipo I am buying for the season will be available in time for this meeting, so if its only 2009 cells I'll have to cancel :cry:

Can anyone confirm??

I don't think we want people turning up with 2 motors and AA duracells and dominating the meeting. But using 2008/9 spec cells at the Supercup I have to ask if anyone cares - if they do then we'll just have to have words with them and run 08 cells anyway, because thats all I have also.

Wouldn't worry about it.;)

matdodd 28-02-2009 01:15 AM

So do I at the min!

DaveG28 11-03-2009 12:01 AM

All I have is TP saddle packs that aren't 08 or 09 legal, no sign of legal cells yet! Someone just let me know if it's a problem and I'll head to Bury instead, otherwise all good!

May have already asked this (couldn't find it if so tho!) but is there mains power or do we need to bring 12v batteries? Pretty certain I remember we needed our own tables/chairs last year?

Dave

Mike Hudson 11-03-2009 12:07 AM

you'll need your own tables/chairs but mains power is available  it's just run to relaxed regional rules i think as almost nobody has 2009 legal cells and its not a brca sactionaed event so shooudn't be of concern :), don't worry about your tp cells from last year Dave they should be fine to use as long as your car is above the minimum brca legal weight ;) many people were using them at the regional at batley on sunday, so long as you take care when charging etc

Northy 11-03-2009 08:57 AM

Just so people know, Steve has asked me to bring the NE scales and box, so your car must be atleast minimum weight (and the scales were checked last week), and the right size to fit in the box.

I'd have thought any hard cased lipo would be fine though.

super__dan 11-03-2009 09:38 AM

Yeah, I don't represent the club but any hard cased Lipo should be fine.

telboy 11-03-2009 09:56 AM

So using TP3200 lipo in an X6, how much weight should I be using?
Not got any scales here.

Lee 11-03-2009 09:58 AM

You probably wont need any Tel, im sure mine was ok with no weight added when using the 3200

Northy 11-03-2009 10:13 AM

Weight was catching a lot of people out last Sunday..... be careful.

The scales will be there for people to check their cars as soon as I get there (~8am).

what happens for the truck class? Think there abit big for the box and don't know of any minimum weight for them? :woot:

super__dan 11-03-2009 01:07 PM

Tel, need or should?

The team is working round a front rear weight distribution of 35%/65% so I'd weight it up and over this. I have a set of scales and a board to do this easily. Come see me on Sunday morning with your car and some weights!

Trucks are 1700g BRCA/ROAR, 1770g EFRA I think Mike :)

We have never scrutineered at the supercup in previous years, but just relied on people to be sensible and sportsmanlike.
I hope this will continue this year also, (especially as I have no intention of sitting half the day weighing and measuring other peoples cars;))

Northy 12-03-2009 09:08 AM

OK John, but I have been asked to bring the box and scales...... that's all I'm saying.

Maybe you guys should talk together in private about such matters?:confused:

I agree it was never really and issue in the past with everyone running cells, but we had a lot of underweight cars last Sunday with lipo...... :o
