Tom C's setup from the worlds http://www.petitrc.com/setup/schumac...ico2013092629/

10K rear

sime46 21-12-2013 03:55 PM

I've built mine 12.5 fr 7k rear as recommended by a team driver. We'll see how she goes.

cryer-evo 21-12-2013 04:04 PM

Cool seams very odd that they are running thicker oil in the rear :confused:but can't ???? The pros

cryer-evo 21-12-2013 04:07 PM

Also shox oils as I believe it comes with 3 hole pistons

I believe It would aid steering imho. I used to do this with my savage truck cos that hated turning lol.

I ran 10/5k in my K1 and loved it's first run. Will get a 3rd diff to test further.

Will be interested to hear people's views re aero vs original K1. Admittedly I went to big bores from day one.

Need to get some 3 hole pistons, drill and test etc

i've been running 20k front and back all year and most of the team has now started to move towards that. At the worlds we changed diff oil but on a very different surface to what we run in the UK.

I run 20k in the KF aswell.

When filling, put oil in each of the 4 corners, then rotate the gears and add more oil until its level with the centre spindle.

I've been filling mine like this all year and it seems to be the best starting point.

Si

Will be run mostly on hi grip astro so 20k front and rear is a good starting point yes moss ?

Very nice, get it built! I'm staying K1 for the mo until I've got my KF ordered.

cryer-evo 26-12-2013 08:46 AM

I take it the standerd k1 shell will fit on the aero ?

cryer-evo 27-12-2013 03:53 PM

Hi all I have got the 3 hole pistons in my aero with 30w rear and 35w losi oil front and it would appear to me there is way to much pack . If I drop my car fully loaded up from say a foot hi it dosnt compres at all ? Is wot is every one running I only have losi oils

mikeyscott 27-12-2013 04:06 PM

I believe most are drilling the rear pistons to 1.65mm

cryer-evo 29-12-2013 05:49 PM

First time out today started with 35 front 30 rear losi oil and it was way to hard swopped out to 30 front 25 rear still to hard I think but much better now put 25 front 20 rear fills better but run out of track time to test but my god this car is so much easyer to drive than my old sx3 flipping loving it 👌

cryer-evo 30-12-2013 10:59 AM

?? For you all when I was coming out onto the straight if I wasn't lined up and got on the gass it would go into a massive tank slapper wot can I change to stop this ? Track was damp astro
