I've done that sorta thing LOADS of times when doing a review - it's all too easy to make a silly mistake when trying to go take photos all the time and write some notes etc.

Do you think the Trakpower lipo's are too high and might foul the belt? :(

glypo 18-09-2008 03:39 PM

Yep sorry already corrected. The really embarrassing thing is I didn’t notice the mistake when I done it last night.

It was only when I was moving the wishbones up and down to test shocks that I noticed a massive change in camber, then in reverse spotted the issue. How silly. The plate with the ball-studs is screwed on separately, so in my tiredness at 1am I must have made it then.

Anyway don’t worry - the photos I am sorting through now are all back to normal. I was kinda hoping no-one would spot the error hehe...

I have put Trakpower in my SX, 3200's and 3600's fit fine. Let me know (PM if you want) and i'll show you what I have done etc.

That's not the issue. My 4900mAh fits under the belt fine. The problem is that there is always something blocking one of the power tubes. The only solution I can think of, is solder one 4mm gold connector at right angles, and make the wire long enough so that it extends out of chassis. Then you should be able to plug in and slide. then cable tie in place to stop it interfering with belt. This would be with power ports at the back of the chassis.

I'd certainly like to see your solution Chris if you wouldn't mind. Thanks

p.s. only my last photo in my previous collection now has me silly mistake :-)

Ive got a 4900 in mine, it does fit - connectors to the rear, it is a bit tight though but i'll still be running it at worksop..

As for spares, haven't really broken much, but obviously depends how hard you want to hit stuff!

Did some front arms early on, but haven't done one in ages, same for front and rear hubs - but they have both been changed since then.

Haven't ever done either shock towers!!

Worth keeping the usual suspects in though, as well as some screws for the pin mounts, i have bent a couple of these.

So which Lipo batteries will fit without any form of modification?
Manufacturer, mah rating etc?

Lee 18-09-2008 04:51 PM

depends which chassis you buy

But in the lipo chassis i know the 3200 and 3600 Trakpowers fit

Chrislong 18-09-2008 04:53 PM

Hi Glypo, Ive sent you a PM. if you let me know your email address i will send a picture of my Trakpower in SX.

What I have done is, like James says, plugs to the rear. The positive goes right in, to the centre of the car. But if you tie wrap the positive wire to the underside of the topdeck, about 2inches infront of the plug, with same amount of slack on the wire - it can be plugged in with the cells out slightly, and then slid back.

The belt will be around 5mm away from the wire.

The negative just goes straight through the belt, ive tie wrapped it with the positive when I tooked that up, and it stays away from the belt by miles.

I can send any photos, but im not so good at hosting and posting them here. If anybody needs photos to clarify what I mean, just drop me a PM.

Chris
