The track was built next to a river not far downstream from a dam I've been told. If the water gets too high and they have to open the dam the whole place could flood and it would take days for the water to go down. So it's possible the finals will not take place and Elliot would be the champion! Will know in a few hours when the sun is up and I can go have a look at the track.
I hope it's not flooded! We have come a long way to be here, and there has been a lot of problems. Internet at the track has failed massively so live Rc has not had good coverage of the event, nothing they can do as it's the Internet provider that is failing. They paid a lot of money to have a good connection as well.
Lots of other problems as well, there will be loads of stories coming from this world championships.

Now a toxic cloud has been seen not far from here, lol. The local reports say its non toxic. Yeah right lol

I've just been over to look at the track, it's wet but not flooded so we should be good to race today!!!

is that the rain with the Toxic cloud in it?

goldy 07-12-2012 09:37 AM

If it gets rained off, does Elliot come home world champ:)

David Church 07-12-2012 09:43 AM

Elliot would be champion if it gets rained off. It's very windy here today and much cooler than earlier in the week. Hopefully it will have blown that toxic cloud away lol. It's dry at the moment and not many clouds in the sky which is good, you would think they would be at the track now clearing the water, but nope, no one is even at the track now!!! There will be many sore heads today as many were drinking yesterday and many were up very late!!!

DCM 07-12-2012 10:26 AM

It does seem to be very low atmosphere at the Worlds, normally the track is buzzing all the time, but at this one, seems like they are on siesta all the time!!

David Church 07-12-2012 10:47 AM

Yep it's a very poor atmosphere. And as far as I can tell there is still no one working on the track.

What a shame.

Fingers crossed it warms up you all get racing.

DCM 07-12-2012 11:04 AM

You'd think they would make more of an effort wouldn't you. track looks like a club day, odd banner here and there :(

hotrodchris 07-12-2012 11:05 AM

Or Elliot just comes home with the Title?

bomber 07-12-2012 11:23 AM

The english drivers should feel right at home with the puddles and mud

David Church 07-12-2012 11:36 AM

I'm going to the track now, some of the UK drivers are going over to work on the track! Probably won't have in Internet there, but will try and update if I get the chance.

Good to see you sneek Jimmy into the Neobuggy RC Racing Thursday roundup!

racingdwarf 07-12-2012 12:25 PM

maybe they are not working on the track untill they know about the dam, they have the advantage of local knowledge. Looking at a few local reports they have had some serious rain around those parts. Even if it's stopped they may well need to open the dam as the land drains to the rivers hours after it's stopped:bored:

Build the track on a flood plain, sweet:lol:

jo90 07-12-2012 04:46 PM
