Marco can I ask if you have problems with the rear tresrey driveshaft rubbing on top of the battery strap?

Ta

Marc0 08-08-2011 10:45 AM

Tresrey driveshafts are only good for pictures... they do wear very very very very quickly (2 packs and they are dead on very high grip track...)

As they are taking lots of play after a run, they are rubbing on the top of the battery strap... I am happy with all the other Tresrey stuff, but not with the central driveshaft

Big G 08-08-2011 10:54 AM

I have the same speedo/receiver and I run mine the other way round. Speedo at the rear and receiver stood upright. nothing hits the shell then because of that lip which will be cured with the new shells...

I guess the only downside if you ever needed to run a fan on you wouldn't be able to mount it to blow over the terminals very well.

What is the diameter of the heatshrink tube used on the driveshafts, over the plastic colars? any store that i could find it?

Marc0 08-08-2011 11:54 AM

To be honest, I have no precise idea. I have a lot of heatshrink at home, and I took the one that best fitted the driveshaft. I bought a mix of different diameters in an electronic shop near home.

On the rear driveshaft, there is not enough space. I tried it, but after 10ft on the track, it was gone... lol

Big G 08-08-2011 12:39 PM

The Treshey rear alu gearbox holder isn't quite as high as the plastic one I noticed. I had a little boot over my joint and it was rubbing on the strap after changing the mount. I popped a couple of little washers under it to lift it slightly and no problem.

captainlip 08-08-2011 01:53 PM

So you would avoid the tresrey driveshafts? Do you have a photo to show the wear they incur? Thanks

Dazzler 08-08-2011 02:10 PM

Phil,

The holes elongate where the pin goes through, my shafts are in the bin so unfortunately I can't provide a pic, but as has been posted at least 3 times today, they have a high wear rate. So yes, avoid... You can have enough problems..

Marc0 08-08-2011 02:25 PM

I'll try to post some pics of the Tresrey when I change them

captainlip 08-08-2011 03:36 PM

Ok spot on!

My Durango is running spot on for months! So rather not throw poor parts at it.
