I think you will find that they are struggling with rear grip i would guess, after driven my own mid motor 2wd i find you need plenty of rearing grip and with it being mainly dirt i think this could be the reason, but i could be barking up the wrong tree completely :)

Btw the other photographers are packing some hardware a 600mm f4 cost around £6 grand, i hope Jimmy manages to have a play with one of those lens, i used a 300mm f2.8 at oxon last year, and you just could not move it about to keep up with the cars.

Well it would be a waste for them all to go there just for 2wd.

So yes mate we do, and they will be driving the same cars as they do in the Nats.

So Yokomos, BJ4s, XX4s, Preds, X5s and what have you.

Stu 16-08-2006 06:40 PM

Jimmy's report is superb, his commitment to being at the right place at the right time for the pics is obvious to see.
Dissapointing lack of spoonage however.

Northy 16-08-2006 10:28 PM

Disapointing spoonage! :(

Who's got Jimmy's number? Tell him we NEED spoon pictures. People are asking for them! :o :D

zaquiz 17-08-2006 12:01 AM

Just gr8 coverage Jimmy! Keep up the good wrk!

DR VOODOO 17-08-2006 01:18 AM

Any word on Dan Greenwood?

emzy 17-08-2006 08:15 AM

Dan was first in the H final.

I'm not sure how he'll be feeling about that to be honest, but from the looks of it, a lot of people haven't done as well as expected!

Nice work on the report Jimmy

DCM 17-08-2006 12:49 PM

is it me or are they doing 6min practice sessions?

Southwell 17-08-2006 01:05 PM

Yeah, some got 6 mins.

Chris Doughty 17-08-2006 01:11 PM

I remember running 8 minute sessions in sweeden in 2000,

on dirt even back then you can last so long on your batteries

AndyG 17-08-2006 03:08 PM

Is that Mr Kirk I see on that group photo, or just somebody kneeling down?

I'm guessing he's pitting for somebody.

No, he's racing - Heat 2.

He's just had a practice but I assuming he broke it because he only did 2 laps...

Northy 17-08-2006 04:02 PM

Fairly standard form for Kirky then! :D

G

Northy 17-08-2006 08:46 PM

Spoon? :( :( :(

Was it a wasted trip for him? He could have been here with me playing with my rabbit...... :(

G

Barry Williams 18-08-2006 08:01 AM

G
you should've let the spoon come with me & Greg to the juniors, he would've been heavily involved!!!

Spencer Mulcahy 18-08-2006 08:37 AM

Will the spoon be going to the F345 finals at tivvy Mr North (I am)

Northy 18-08-2006 08:49 AM

If someone wants to take him they can, but he takes some looking after. Keep him away from loose women and strong drink, and make sure he eats his greens! :o

G

Northy 18-08-2006 08:50 AM

Live timed practice is running by the way. Good job I'm not busy at work today! :D
