two words.

Grip

Roll

I ran my carisma at TIchfield with mini pins on and it would flip like crazy. Didn't have rally blocks at that point though. The standard tyres were so grippy you could flip the car adjusting your line on the straight!

Might be an excuse to race there this sunday with the mini 8 as I'm down south at the weekend.

_sleigh_ 11-01-2012 10:19 AM

I've run my 1:16 on astro a few times now and as long as the 'pile' of the astro isn't too lengthy we'll be ok. But the same applies for the 1:10 buggies, just not as bad.

RobChalmers 11-01-2012 12:53 PM

I like a numb car, so I'll just test on the std pins until I've dialled it out!

As Phil has pointed out, no need to stress as the pile is short enough to let all scales wizz through the astro sections, we decided to include the astro sections to give you all something exciting! They will only feature in small sections to make it interesting :) fun times we hope

I'm just looking forward to the concrete! (until it blues up :( )

The concrete is sealed. Industrial style with a semi-shiny coating....again more of a featured surface change than loads of slippy, should make for some interesting corners when your line goes, carpet, slippy, astro strip, carpet!! Lol

I mean it is off-road after all ;)

arransmith27 17-01-2012 09:37 PM

Correct, but just so everybody remembers...as stated on booking in form, we are also allowing mini spikes on driven axle 2wd and all round 4wd...the slippy is not like ice but may prove interesting until the grip rises a bit during the meeting.

We can not wait to begin the actual track build guys!!, as promised, photos will be uploaded as we go this week.

Many thanks to all racers who have booked and paid this weekend!! It is filling up nicely now and all is set for a really nice day of relaxed but challenging racing for all attending.

Don't forget your pit tables and chairs folks, any racers with extra power extension leads we are suggesting you chuck them in as it looks like the pits are going to be busy....doors will be open with all welcome from 7:30...feel free to get in and settled from then on

racingben 23-01-2012 12:23 AM

Stuart,

Have you got enough for 1/16 2wd? If not can you slot me into 1/10 2wd please

Layloo9136 23-01-2012 04:13 AM

A good spectacle

Well, I am not going to be racing simply because I'm not good enough, but I think I'll be making the trip down from Manchester just to spectate and support. Sounds like a fun day to me.

We currently have 58 drivers booked but requests for booking in have risen dramatically over last 24hours. We anticipate a sell out over the next 48 hours folks!! Parking is super convenient just adjacent to the venue and security patrolled
