I'm sorry you feel this way mate, but I understand. although you know the whole MA situation has been out of our hands. We have been given false promises week in week out so the SRCMCC committee will be making a decision at the end of the week whether its MA or not and then release the alternative venue!

GRIFF55 03-10-2011 07:00 PM

End of the week will be nice to have a venue:thumbsup:
Good work guys.

Look forward to finding out where its going to be so I can make up my mind whether I think it's worth entering (if there is space then of course) ;)

hotrodchris 17-10-2011 05:22 PM

Paid my entry and still waiting to here the venue?

Any news on this mystery venue yet? Would be nice to know where it's going to be, i'm sure Nicholas Petit would like to know too ;o)

mikeyscott 19-10-2011 03:43 PM

My thoughts too so I can book at hotel. I know people have said it won't be far, but I'm wanting to get the hotel booking right first time.

njc11 19-10-2011 04:20 PM

yeah it would be nice... i already booked somewhere as it was cheap!

Just hope its not going to be miles away from Moto Arena..

Any ideas guys?? Is it this new indoor venue youve found for your tuesday nights?

Petit Venue

Right chaps,

I have been quiet thus far regarding the venue of the Petit because it is Mr Petit's event not Silverstone RCMCC's.

We have been in close contact with Nicolas over the past months on a regular basis and even more so over the past couple of weeks as I'm sure many of you are aware.

We as a club were asked to RUN the event and the VENUE was agreed with MA so it's not our fault they have let us all down. We have exhausted every avenue and invested much personal time searching everywhere for a new (suitable) venue to host the event at. The reason we decided to try and assist is because Nicolas and our club didn't get the final decision about MA until last week because we were promised by Silverstone Circuit that they would let us use the Venue regardless of MA being involved or not. They changed their plans late last week due to BUSINESS REASONS!!! As I mentioned we have another venue in line, however we're dealing with a multi national company and things move slowly in these circles. We wanted the chance regardless of MA's involvement to host such a prestigious event even if at a great financial loss to our club!!!

So again, I'm sorry if you feel like you have been ill-treated or kept waiting. I didn't want to get involved in giving possible wrong information when I feel we as a club shouldn't post anything regarding Mr Petit's event without it coming from him first.

It is only natural that he has probably asked other venue's/clubs as some of you're hinting at and that is fine. I feel we've done everything possible to make sure this event is as fantastic as the past years that I've been fortunate to attend.

Matt Owen
SRCMCC Chairman

mikeyscott 19-10-2011 07:16 PM

Fair play Matt for being open about it  - Fingers crossed then.

hotrodchris 19-10-2011 07:32 PM

oh well keep waiting still 3 months for something to get sorted. hopefully not too far north

I just want to know where its going to be.. as does everyone else! its 3 months away....

Is it going to be at the same venue as the Indoor Finals which were sorted yesterday?

Its not much to ask to give us an idea so we can make plans!

tony12795 19-10-2011 09:05 PM

I would like to think you know me well enough mate to tell you if that was the case. Unfortunately the Petit date isn't available at our new venue otherwise yes it would be.

The Venue we're in talks with is about 15-20 mins from MA as originally promised, however can't disclose address at request of property owners.

njc11 19-10-2011 09:29 PM

Appreciated Matt...

But consider everyone else??? People need to make arrangements etc.

Ive booked Travelodge at Silverstone which was the closest you could probably get to MA... ok it was cheap.. but im still going to have to get up earlier and travel a distance which kind of defeats the object of cheap accomodation... for a cheap weekend.. Im having to watch my finances at the moment and im sure im not alone... Its a good 2 1/2 drive for me (fuel costs), plus entry so all the extras start to add up.. :(

You cant disclose an address??? sounds a bit bizarre!

Nic,

I'm sorry, mate. Its a simple request from the land owner. Its a secure site which we have to gain permission and be escorted to even view!

We have thought about everyone else way before ourselves as this is by no means easy for us to do if successful with the venue. We have to build a venue from an empty shell and will probably cost our club in excess of £2000 which we've worked bloody hard to save for our outdoor track. I will also have to take at least a week off of work to set this up and I'm self employed. It's been made harder by trying to keep the venue that suits our requirement as close as possible to MA for people like yourself.

I hope it works and have more information shortly.

Matt

Same boat here to if nothing announced soon will want a refund sorry

Smartalec 20-10-2011 11:56 AM

All entrants will receive a brown envelope through the post with the instructions, then you will have to read them and destroy all evidence. You will have to drive to a set location where you will all be put into black vans with no windows, blindfolded and then driven to the location.

After the event you will be given a pill, you will then wake up back in your car with no memory of it ever happening :woot:

The truth is out there .............. ;)

That could be handy if you had shocking results on either day!

Dudders 20-10-2011 12:21 PM

I'll stay registered for now... but Fancy the Silverstone bash.... won't be allowed two pass outs in Feb for racing though . Will have to choose...

Only one problem with Ardent looks like they have an event on the 15th Jan.

"15th January 2012 - World GT, F1 and Pan Series Round 4 (With Supporting Classes for Mardaves and Minis)"

Do you think they would change the date of Petit? That would really annoy people that have booked hotels already.

The mystery continues...:o

Hmmmmm :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Due to some problems with MA and other "secured" venue closest Silverstone, I would like to announce you today that the 6th edition of the PETITRC RACE ( ^^ name of the race) will be back to.... ARDENT RACEWAY at Kings Newton in Derbyshire.

If some of registered drivers want be refund, it will be possible. Just send me an email.

Roll on ARDENT RACEWAY! http://www.petitrc.com/_forumphp/ima...ks/whistle.png

Some places are available yet but not for a long time. Remeber you, this 5th edition was FULL and some of you stayed at home. Wake up!!

Smartalec 20-10-2011 12:57 PM

Area 51 Northampton can stand down now :woot:

mikeyscott 20-10-2011 01:27 PM

Think I'll do the other event than PetitRC. So at least I'll save some money!

mattybucks 20-10-2011 01:46 PM

All we need now is a "I'm not going to Petit race" on the same date in the Silverstone area. Who else is up for it?

To be honest, what will that achieve other then tensions between the various parties.

mattybucks 20-10-2011 01:56 PM

Well it'll give all those that can't get refunds on the accomodation booked somewhere to race. Just an idea that's all, as I recall that several people were not happy after last years event.

Nick 20-10-2011 02:07 PM

I just had an email from petit rc saying its at ardent on the 14th and 15th of Jan!

hotrodchris 20-10-2011 04:48 PM

Have to consider my options in regards a refund against travel costs for a days racing

chuckie stella 20-10-2011 04:52 PM

Right folks,

As most of you already know the Petit venue has changed. I had the delight of finding out the same way as you via the competitor email. Thanks for that Nicolas!

Thank you to all those that believed we would deliver as we always do, we appreciate your support. We hope to be announcing another event (possibly at area 51!!) over the weekend.

Watch this space!!!

Cheers,

Matt
