The small (optional Yokomo) hex in the front is ok for me - as long as it isn't a pin and wheels are easy to get!

OK, but the question will be : Does it fit perfectly without changing the car wide ?:)
PS : sorry for the out of subject

Looks great!

How do you like the car?

David

mes 25-03-2012 05:55 AM

Thanks! I can only comment on the build so far, as I'm still waiting for some AE wheel axles and my new radio. Part quality (aside from some of the screws) is top notch. Chassis material seems to be super tough, so pre-tapping is highly recommended. Oh, and I really love the shocks! :wub

discothesnake 25-03-2012 12:03 PM

Are the shocks the same as the bmax4? I love yokomo cars but parts etc are just too much of a hassle to get over here.

If a retailer over here brought the stuff over I would probably go back to Yokomo.

Enjoy the car!

David

mes 25-03-2012 02:12 PM

They are an improved version of the B-Max4II Worlds Spec shocks. The lower end does away with C-clips, the cartridge is kept under an extra bottom mounted lid.

mes 22-04-2012 05:09 AM

Managed to drive one battery yesterday. After moving the shorty LiPo almost completely to the rear, the car was absolutely planted.
We've got a mid to low-grip, slightly bumpy astroturf track that had experienced spells of rain and even hail in the course of the day - the joys of April! By the time I arrived in Troisdorf, the track was dry again. I ran kit set-up with yellow Schumacher minipins in the rear and staggers in the front. The 17.5 turn motor wasn't a big challenge for the car, but I've got to get used to small tyres again. Shocks are just plainly brilliant, the car was so smooth on the bumpy straight... :wub
I've got a 13.5 motor coming, and I'm looking forward to giving the car a good try in the stock class at the regional in early May. There'll be probably some 17.5 turn fun racing in Helmond/NL next week, too.

hi guys,

any one of you try B4.1 geardiff in this car yet???

Geardiff

mes 23-04-2012 03:48 AM

Seems to be too wide for the current gearbox.

fastinfastout 23-04-2012 07:38 AM

rb5 diff?

kschu 24-04-2012 02:57 AM

doesnt B4.1 2wd ball diff same with bmax2 ball diff ?

kschu 24-04-2012 02:57 AM

what other bodyshell that can fit into bmax2 beside the one that come with the kit?

mes 24-04-2012 03:48 AM

At the moment, the kit body is the only one that I know of. I wouldn't be surprised if an Azarashi body was released before long, however.

anyone using this in their buggy yet???

The place i race too muddy. my shock shaft scratch till the titanium coated gone..

mes 25-04-2012 02:46 PM

No, haven't seen those in use. I've seen some decent drivers using slim balloons to cover their springs on a dirt track, and it turned out to work quite well. :)

kschu 26-04-2012 02:10 AM

any pic of the mention baloon.?

mes 27-04-2012 05:11 AM

Something like that! Oh, and of course there are shock socks... You should find those easily on eBay or google.

mes 01-05-2012 06:31 PM

After my first race and two more days of practice, I'm very, very impressed. I managed to win a heat in a race for the first time ever while running just the second battery on the track in Helmond!
My driving and set-up skills let the B-Max2 down a bit (adding a spacer instead of removing one made the car flip over when pushing too hard, tightened the diff but forgot to loosen the slipper, which made me jump too far, too little throttle after backing off the slipper made jump too short...).
In the end of the day, the car was very well to drive.
Today, I switched to the 13.5 turn motor, fiddled a little around with the setup on my slippery home track, and it was even easier to drive than with the 17.5 before. I think I'll need more power before long! :D

kschu 02-05-2012 06:13 AM

what is the use of the shim under the rear toe block ??

adding and remove what will be the effect??

what is the toe that common use ? 3.0 ,3.5 or 4.0 ?

About the toe, The Yokomo guys say that is depending about your driving...not about the track.
If you like to "Push hard" out of corner...set to 4°
If you have a smooth driving...set to 3°

For the anti squat setting, I use on slippery (dusty ) tracks 0° or 1°.
0° will give you a very easy car on bumps and a good lateral grip
2° will give you "motricity" and better on jumps.
With 0° you will get less motricity than 2°...
The Bmax2 is very special on that...in comparison...when you set 0° of antisquat on a RC10B4...you haven't got any motricity. With the Bmax2 you still got enought motricity with 0° to push out of corners or in front of a jumps.

Cheers,
Bastos

-Change the rear hub carrier for the Aluminium ones...in case of the cold weather plastic ones could break in case of a bad lateral landing.
-The rear "U" support for camber link absorb lot of shocks, it's made of a smooth plastic ( The yokomo plastic are well choosen ) but you can screw "BTR screws" on the holes that you do not use...to minimize the possibility of ball stud tearing-off.

Nothing broken on the ground so far! :D
The B-Max2 handles superb, is very forgiving and very tough. Shocks don't leak, and even I am able to get a decent set-up. I couldn't think of a better car. This buggy gives you so much confidence that I just bought a 7.5 turn motor.

Tried a bad lateral landing after a big jump including broken hub carrier today. Something had to give after that impact...
Lesson learned today: Only drive when you're standing on the drivers' stand!

kschu 10-05-2012 03:15 AM

I'm using this lipo in my Bmax2 at the moment...consistently power throughout the 7minutes race

Shorty Pack

mes 17-05-2012 06:22 PM

I also use shorty batteries (Vampire Racing, great stuff!), and I really like the way you can move the weight to the front or rear.
Kind of refilled my shocks for the first time today. Oil was super clean, and hardly any of it had found a way out. Most of the few drops of oil I added, went out through the bleed holes again! That's after one race and quite a few training days.
Moved to a 7.5 turn motor meanwhile - the first time ever for me - and the Max is just great. Only some small adjustments are needed and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I never had a car that was so easy to set up and so consistent before.
As I'm going to our track with my eight year old son tomorrow, I installed the 17.5 again; I'd had to install it again anyway on Sunday at the latest, when I'll be going to the new Duisburg dirt track for some club racing.

mes 14-10-2012 02:49 PM

As I wasn't too fond of the prospect of buying another expensive set of Kyosho spacers to mount PL or JC B4 hex adapters to the mid-motor B-Max2, I fiddled around with the parts I had in my box today. The thin wheel spacers from the B-Max4 are perfect for this job! Just put them on the axles, insert the pin and afterwards mount the hex adapters.

hi there

is that the original body from the r6 or a aftermarket body?
lokks so good

mihael

mes 10-03-2013 05:33 PM

That's the original Kyosho RB-6 body, iirc aka the "Blade".

cryer-evo 10-03-2013 09:57 PM

forgive me but what is motricity

mes 13-03-2013 12:35 PM

I think it means something like response to motor rotation/forward bite.
