We now have a rostrum sorted thanks to Mr. Stewart:thumbsup:

I will be collecting the trailer and heading over to Seaham for 11.00 on Saturday morning to load all the track markings and hope to be up to Stannington for 12.30ish so anyone who can lend a hand at either end that's the times we should be there. Thanks to everyone who's volunteered so far.. The more the merrier :)

Really looking forward to the weekend now the rostrum is sorted and have some good ideas for the track, no need to worry about the weather thanks to the roof:thumbsup:

See you at the weekend

cmgreen 10-05-2011 07:21 AM

Format of racing for the day

Hi, As this will be the first time for the NE region when both 2WD & 4WD will take place on the same day (I think). What will be the format for the racing, will both classes be run at the same time or one after another. Will their be a different track for both classes.

I do not think anyone as mentioned the above but if I missed it sorry.

cmgreen 10-05-2011 11:32 AM

Pretty sure it will run one class then the next class, e.g. 2wd then 4wd, on same track.

You are correct - I believe this will be the first time the answer has been in print.

Both classes will run on the same track concurrently - i.e all Rnd1 2wd qualifiers followed by Rnd1 4wd etc etc with the finals run the same at the end of the day, all on the same track.

This is perhaps one of the downsides, or upside depending how you look at it, but single day events for both classes was a popular request in 2010.

chris68nufc 10-05-2011 12:51 PM

Well I appreciate the organisation that you and Jeff have had to do so if we have to race both classes the same day then so be it, could be worse, we might not have had any regionals this year. Can't bloody wait, and I can't stress how important it is to do the regional series, a few know my position regarding national entries!! Doh!

chrispattinson 10-05-2011 01:02 PM

I think its going to be tougher event than many expect it to be this weekend........ unfamiliar surface might throw up a few suprises. I cant do worse than last year with my 2WD though... B4 comeback for Stanington

Youll be fine.... it's the slippiest regional, but more grip than any of the club meetings you just described.

Give me a shout, and Ill have a look at your B4, there'll be loads of advice available on the day from the friendly folk... and some of it might be right :woot:

For those that haven't been before here's a taster of the indoor venue. This one's 4wd, couldn't find 2wd.

Chequered Flag Racing 11-05-2011 07:30 AM

Live Streaming Video from the event will hopefully be up and running on Sunday.
Looking at the mobile broadband coverage map it should be OK.
But if it goes down it'll have to wait, racing the cars comes first

Link in my signature line ;).

Health & Saftey gone MAD then :woot:

Always were saftey specs when gluing tyres:thumbsup:

I did hear a story not long back were someone put SG some tyres to rims. Once glue was on but dry they tried to adjust the bead to rim and then it popped into place on the rim squirting SG into the drivers eyes.:o

chrispattinson 11-05-2011 08:55 AM

... yeah, always use Safety glasses when gluing... Niel, can you get me some better SGs, saying as your always taking the p*#@ out of mine.....

cragstar 13-05-2011 12:22 PM

I've tried full spikes in the past on 4wd and they were ok when the surface was still loose but once the racing line was cleared they were not much use.. Yellow mini spikes seemed the best all rounders..

Peter from Castle Models told me he would be there on Sunday.
