A little bit of sick just came up when I read that.....

Jamie.T 15-07-2010 08:34 AM

48 Hours and counting. Seems the weather isn't quite sure what its doing. 2 very conflicting reports on Metcheck and BBC

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/...code=pontypool

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/foreca...area=Pontypool

Fingers crossed that rain stays clear eh?

Jamie......

Looks like we are running the risk of some showers over the weekend so its not the end of the world, we have Carl and his big tent and also the rostrum has a cover on it so it should be fine! Also the club house is there to keep the breakfasts dry!

I am volunteering myself to run about and sweep the track after the showers if needs be! :)

Balders 15-07-2010 10:13 AM

I will also have a stash of blue tac for anyone that needs some! :)

Just in case of course because its not going to rain really!

B4R4CER 15-07-2010 11:24 AM

very big tent standing by:drool:

to shade us from the blazing sunshine of course:woot:

Body Paint 15-07-2010 12:35 PM

The weather girl on telly this morning said that the weather was broken :bored:

I may have a route around saturday morning for my big gazeebo aswell.

Jamie.T 16-07-2010 07:10 AM

Just checked the forecast this morning and its all changed. Now looking clearly with sunny outbreaks for Saturday, with a cloudy and overcast BUT dry Sunday.

Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Jamie.........

blue_pinky 16-07-2010 08:53 AM

I keep getting distracted by the weather girls and miss the report

Either way, reckon we'll have a little bit of fun this weekend!

Think I might dig out the Xmas car costume for racing in the dark!!!

What the plan on bbq's? Bring our own? Disposables? Or do we have anything a little more industrial to feed the masses?

Jamie.T 16-07-2010 08:59 AM

BBQ? ill be off to the nearest pizza joint or indian takeaway if anybody fancies some.

Gotta go find some "glow in the dark" stickers now for me car. Gotta see where the car is for this night racing.lol

Jamie......

Balders 16-07-2010 10:15 AM

I'm taking up a bbq, its not very big but can be used as a fire bucket after the cooking if it gets a little chilly up there..

B4R4CER 16-07-2010 11:55 AM

The big lights are in my posession ready to strap to the rostrum for drunken night racing ..... just go and get the aircraft hangar/marquee this avo.

Disposable bbq's at the ready .... beer is in shop ready for pick up

bring it on

This weekend's activities.........................

I've got a load of chemical light sticks to use as track markings!!

Is Matt's hot-tub available for us to use?

Jamie.T 16-07-2010 07:00 PM

Oh no, i can just see it now. Axeman all greased up wearing his mankini in the hot tub. Will be like a scene out of Borat itself.

Even surprised myself how well the truck ran....:woot: (...and my driving as I've never been that good and I'm well out of practice).

Jamie.T 18-07-2010 08:27 PM

1 word, AWESOME. Thanks to Mike who's idea this whole weekend was, and also a big thank you to Axeman for running race control, and all round entertainment.

Cant wait for the next meeting.

Evsie 18-07-2010 08:39 PM

blue_pinky 19-07-2010 08:58 AM

Can I put my name down for next year? 2wd, 4wd, and last man standing!!!

Wish I'd been able to hang around for Sunday, but still had awesome fun on Saturday....I am off to draw up a new B44 front shock tower though...seems I'm even too much of an animal for the atomic carbon ones

Thanks to Mike for setting it up, Axeman for keeping it running, and Talywain club for lending us there place

Absolute quality

Balders 19-07-2010 03:02 PM

Was cracking!

Thanks for all who made the trip down to came and have a race, I hope you really did enjoy it. It went well as far as I could tell so will be definitely looking to try and make a yearly event out of it.

A few special mentions I think need to be aired in public:

Axeman - for being the computer bitch for the weekend and sorting out the heats and the racing, you did a great job and I thank you for this!

the Taly Cafe - for providing the best start to a sunday morning any man can ask for with a hangover... :)

Pop's - for driving Carl's Mrs home because she was cold.

Carl's (Snake) tent - purely for the comedy size of it...

Carl again - for bringing the flood light to aide in the night race.

Rob West - I'm only saying one thing, 'through the Keyhole'

There were lots more shenanigans and I'm sure they will all come to light over the next few weeks like who pulled all the tent pegs out of as many tents as he could find... I'm not mentioning any names Carl... ;)

Maybe next year make it into a welsh trophy meeting with more fun and games thrown in to make the weekend even more fun!

Thank again to all that came up, will catch you all at the WRCA in Caldicot next weekend!

Cheers

Mike
