just don't use google's new map service for direction's
1. Go to www.google.co.uk 2. Click on 'maps'. 3. Click on 'get directions'. 4. Go from " Atlanta " to " Paris , France ". 5. Scroll down in the directions to number 22.:o |
That just made me literally laugh out loud... LOUDLY! :D
|
Erm, I have been trying to find a map online, doesn't seem to be one for it. I had previously had it saved in my favourites in Tom Tom but I have upgraded software and lost it now.
BUT, i have saved the location for Hartlebury Travelodge and know the way to the track from there. The entry stuff states it is on the A451..... soooo, if you go to Travellodge website and view the Multimap for the location, then all you need to do is drive 5 miles to the A451 and turn right on to it, then the track is on the left. Aaaaaah, also, there is a Fitness First Gym accross the carriageway from the track, if you can find the address for that on the website and put it in your Sat Nav - Hey presto!!! Chris |
Kidderminster Fitness First
Foley Grove Foley Park, Stourport Road Kidderminster DY11 7PT http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=52.35707,-2.27224|16|4&loc=GB:52.36191:-2.26497:16|dy11%207pt|DY11%207PT Right, following this link (Multimap.com search for DY11 7PT). Zoom in on the map, on the A451 from the circle for Fitness First, head South and just as the carriageway split into two lanes is approx where the track is (use Aerial view and you can just about make out the track here). OK, so in a car from there, you'll need to drive south from there on the A451 and you'll see a lane fork off from the carriageway for a chance to turn around - so go back and head north again up the A451 as the track will then be on your left. Easy. |
thanks all, my chances of getting lost have been reduced. :p
|
So it's on the Northbound A451 just before Walter Nash Road West?
|
Well it's my first national, anything thats done different to regionals?
I gather cars are scruitineered before and after races, so before is it just a matter of it quickly being weighed and checked for width then after the race you leave it with them while you marshall the next race? |
cars only get scruitineered before the race and after your race you just take it back with you, transmitters are held in a compound so you only have them when you race.
you get 2 practice sessions which are both 2 mins long ??? maybe 2 and half mins cant remember now . |
So each heat gets a round of 2 / 2.5 minutes practise, then another round of the same, then straight into qualifying?

Ive stayed in that hotel chris it was nice but you will have to turn the electric off before you go to bed as the exstractor fan in the bathroom goes all night and its really really loud.

Spoke to Butch
Craggy 1 Bloomers 2 (he was quick so I'm told, but impatient :) ) Yardy 3? Bradders 4? Big E 5? That's all he could remember, not sure if there right Mossy and Kieth Robertson in the A also. |
Somebody know or have seen something special on Cragg and Bradders yoke ?
I know they are trying something on tha car. |
I was reasonbly happy with my first national but knew I could of done better, only doing 2WD.
Only got one decent run in all day. First run was soon after the shower and had no grip at all plus getting use to the track, second run was a lot better and got a decent 11 lapper in, third run was going decent but flipped and a rear top link came off ending the run. Fourth run tightened the slipper up as it was a bit loose before and put schumachers yellows on, car was pretty much uncontrollable and did worst then my first wet run. So that put me in the L final, made decent start but was hit from behind by a car at first bend and rear top link came off again (will have to replace it) so that was the end pretty much before it started. Think we got lucky with the weather yesterday, forecast was for some really heavy showers, but they seemed to miss us, but looking at the weather radar today think they have had it bad. Looking forward to Bury, my local club, yesterday was just getting use to some of the procedures and rules used in the nationals. |
Moist was the word for todays national
|
Any results??
How'd u do?? |
It's funny how the tyre situation at Kiddy was changed due to complaints about expense!!!!
2wd on saturday was the bomb even with dribbles of rain, no problem at all track was great as always. My tyre bill for this weekend in total was over £300!!!! Ok, so most will be used again as we use spikes mostly everywhere, So no problem. But then along with about 50 others i now have one blown speedo. All totals too nearly £500, thats not including everything else for the weekend!! There was a few of us that couldn't believe round 2 was run, i thought the meeting should have been cancelled after the 1st round ?? To be honest i am quite p£#$%d off after today, and im sure there are many others. I know some people will gain from today and they will say it was the right decision, well i think that is crap!! When you watch and only see on average 4 cars finish each qualifying run that makes US look stupid. Ok, some will say you didn't have to go out there, but isn't this the British Nationals?? So i have some questions: 1. After Round 1 when it was very clear there was large puddles and plenty of standing water on the track, why was the meeting cancelled ??? (There was less standing water at previous Nationals and the meetings were cancelled) 2. What happens now to the 50 + people who have blown speedo's ??? 3. Does Helger and CML have enough stock for people to purchase the various speedo's?? I have never moaned about anything from Nationals before but today was a very expensive and pointless day. Rant over. |
Double post

Plain stupid running in those conditions.
|
Water proofing????
Its amazing what you can use to waterproof speedo's and recievers etc. A |
blimey...i reckon the round the world yacht race doesnt even race in those conditions
|
blimey...i reckon the round the world yacht race doesnt even race in those conditions.....
£300 for the race....that would bankrupt me for the year |
to be fair, the start of round two looked 'OK' after the water was brushed away. if the water was brushed after each heat then it'd of been better.. but the brca dont have a huge timescale to work with.
i watched the majority of round two, and the amount of people who ran absolutely no waterproofing was absolutely crazy. one car stopped after 1 lap, i opened the car up to see no undertray and exposed elecs plastered in water. I'll be honest, if i was in the heats towards the end of round two.. id of had seconds thoughts of racing.. but id of went ahead anyway as i made sure my car was leak proof! tyres? i think pins would of worked better for the fact we would of knew what to run from practise one to the final. I saw peoples pit tables with schumy greens, yellows, ballistic pinks and greens and a variety of 2wd/4wd tyres just for 2wd! however, we were all in the same boat and it made for interesting racing with weather changes. |

I dont think people have an exscuse about saying they had nothing to waterproof wit anyways th BRCA where giving out black bin backs yesterday for rubbish. Adn 90% of drivers have grease in there pit box and insulation tape.

Someone get a picture from any of the first 3 heats and show me where the water was brushed away ??? Yes they brushed the water into larger puddles off the racing line, and that was about 3 people for 2-3 mins tops!!!! I was in heat 3 and was standing watching heat 1 and 2, there were large puddles from the beginning!!
Also with regard brushing the track after each race, the BRCA rules don't allow the track to be touched till the end of the round. Myself and a couple of others who had speedo's go all had water proofing on them or as much as you could, bottom line in my eyes we shouldn't have been running. I think the puddle in Jimmy's pic say most of it. |
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Jimmy's got loads more of them to come, he's crazy. http://www.northernracer.com/kiddy4.jpg Mine are all a bit standard, http://www.northernracer.com/kiddy1.jpg |
"all a bit standard" ------ bust out the magpie stu! :D
Stu got surrounded by 10 chavs on saturday night, threatening to take his camera and burn his negatives - whatever those are. Stu pulled of one of the slickest 'defusing' operations I've ever seen however, he bored them away. :D:D:D |
Saturdays 2wd meeting for me was the worst days racing i have had since i started. 1 good run all day. Thought it was the transmitter. Car would run for about 3 mins and then cut out (no power to anything). By the time the race had finished and i got to car it would be OK. 4wd car ran ok for the 2 heats that i raced in today.
So not sure what is wrong with it as it has occured in both cars prior to this weekend with different electrics in cars. In 4wd i taped up all the holes in shell and chassis and even after round 2 and the puddles the car was dry inside, Did not want any more expense and have to buy more electrics. PS Has any one had to deal with Ripmax in returning Sanwa Radio gear. Will be sending transmitter back to see if they can find anything wrong with it. |
LMAO maggie!!!!! :D
indeed, stu is one slick dude, it was as if it has happened before as he reacted so quickly haha. |
