 They are about £160 ish

jameswilkinson7 15-09-2009 09:51 AM

I think they're cool. We had some good close racing with them on Sunday. All the trucks were evenly matched, speed and handling wise. Everyone enjoyed racing them and watching them.

NeilD 15-09-2009 09:53 AM

The pics looked good James.

stampede vxlboy 15-09-2009 09:57 AM

good picture did you win james your just a winner at racing

Garry 15-09-2009 11:18 AM

Hey guys, the topic is this way.

What sort of motors and gearing are being run in those SC10s?

ianjoyner 15-09-2009 11:28 AM

What tyres / motors did you run in the trucks?

I fancied racing Slashs completely stock. I don't know how the SC10 tyres compare.

I doubt anyone would run such a slow motor in the SC10 as the stock Slash motor though.

twisty 15-09-2009 11:49 AM

James, you should edit in a gap inbetween each of those piccys to make them show down the message instead of accross the page in one.

The Slash tyres are a little bit harder than the SC 10 tyres, the SC 10 guys were running 17 to 19 turn motors with around 18 to 19 Tooth pinions i think.I fitted a slower 19T brushless system to my Slash with a 23 T pinion.
There was very little difference in speed between any of them, which made for good, close and fun racing.
I would say these trucks fill the gap between buggys and touring cars, they go great off road and because it`s closed wheel racing, you can have some door handle to door handle action without flipping each other over like open wheel buggys.

I really enjoyed the meeting,so a big thanks to the organisers for putting it together.
Cheers
Twisty

Garry 15-09-2009 12:17 PM

Cheers, muchly apprieciated. :)

jameswilkinson7 15-09-2009 12:20 PM

SC10s were out of the box RTRs apart from mine, I was running a 19t. As Twisty says, there was nothing in the speeds. To be honest I think if you got em going much faster I think you would get handling problems. Tyres wise the SC10s were on kit tyres and coped very well.

MRD 15-09-2009 01:49 PM

Both mine and my Dads rtr sc10's were running as they came out of the box, a 17t reedy motor with an 18t pinion but then I dropped down to a 15t to get the motor temp down but it was still as fast. When my reedy expires a 10.5 will be going in.
