Ended up buying a 'nutool' generator from the focus local to me, £59 with 650w. it ran my charger, iron, phone charger, bathys big ipod speaker plus other things like my smart tray etc all fine, i think on saturday it used about 2.5 litres of fuel, topped it up for sunday and theres still pleanty left.

They're big and yellow (or some are red) and buzz nicely, how can you loose one! :D

Lee 20-04-2007 07:54 PM

a kipor 980 gennie, :(

b4rs 20-04-2007 08:40 PM

whots the fuss bout these? do we need them? for outdoors or jus a novelty?

emzy 20-04-2007 10:22 PM

Well unless you can find another mains source in the middle of a field...

Col 20-04-2007 11:03 PM

or do the same as indoors - use a 12v

emzy 20-04-2007 11:11 PM

Can't see it lasting all weekend. Or running the tent lights. And we don't even have a TV, laptop, heater...!

Personal preference - generator is a lot more convenient for what we want.

Plus, we don't have a 12V!

b4rs 21-04-2007 08:50 AM

since when do we pitch tents and race all weekend, id rather book a hotel lol, but i dont have enough funds to buy a generator, a heater, a laptop and a tent and a weekends race fees .......lifes hard and so is money at 15.:(

emzy 21-04-2007 03:21 PM

We pitch tents and race all weekend at Nationals...!

The laptop and heater aren't exactly essential items... heaters are only for southern softies, not hardcore northerners like myself. :D

b4rs 21-04-2007 05:26 PM

and me

the funds for one hotel would buy you a ace genny, which is lighter, safer, and lasts longer than a brick of a 12volt.

and put it where..? im pretty sure any one near one of them which isnt theres will not be pleased at all.

On the subject of the matter, a reminder to all for the southport national, the long bush along the side of the camping feild is a quiet area, no generators are to be used here. the rest of the feild is ok for use.. last year we had some issues with the croquet club with noise and pollution.

Mate of mine has a 140Ah 12v, weighs a ton but it does a fair few charges :D Tent lights I dunno about though, how does anyone sleep with 30 generators running lights anyway? :o

They have to be turned off between 11pm and 7am (or something like that)... and well, if you're in bed before 11pm, you DESERVE to be kept awake.

chris68nufc 17-05-2007 09:32 PM

Just received my new Kipor Generator but im having bother getting a spark from it. Has anybody had bother when new with these Generators.Shall i try it with a branded type Spark Plug? I know i have left it to the last minute but im a bit stuck now.Cheers. Chris.

bigred5765 17-05-2007 09:46 PM

put some oil in it
it has a cutout and they dont come with oil in

banksy 17-05-2007 09:54 PM

Once you have put the oil in don't try and start it straight away. Leave it switched off and pull the starter coard about a dozen times to get the oil to the parts that other beer can not reach:mad:

bigred5765 17-05-2007 09:55 PM

good call

banksy 17-05-2007 09:56 PM

It's not that often i have good advice, make the most of it:D
