PaulRotheram 16-02-2007 07:49 PM

I dont know if this is true but ive been told by someone who owns a shop that asked the mirage rep and acroding to her he said:
"He said that Team Orion have redesigned their batteries, so rather than 5 cells on top each other carring 20% of the charge each, they're now doing them with 50 cells side by side carrying a lot less charge each so if they go bang, they just fizzle a bit rather than full-on fireworks."

Just something ive heard.

A

are u on crack

_sleigh_ 16-02-2007 08:21 PM

Even if you are allowed to run the "fire-crackers" just remember there's no guarantee they'll allow them at the Indoor Finals in March. As they aren't fully legal until April 1st.

PaulRotheram 16-02-2007 08:27 PM

Any way to find out sleigh? won't bother entering if i'll be turned away due to a date

_sleigh_ 16-02-2007 10:04 PM

Already on the case. I know in past years at Indoor finals, certain cells have been allowed even though they weren't legal until the April. I think it was at the Worcester meeting a few years back, and it went to a vote if I remember correctly (although I've had a few pints and the memory is a little hazy)

PaulRotheram 16-02-2007 10:18 PM

Nice one ! :)

_sleigh_ 17-02-2007 09:44 AM

Right here's your answer Paul. It's what I thought and not good for you.

The Indoor Finals will be run strictly to the homologation lists.

So NO "Fire-Crackers", GP4600's, Epic 4200's, Sintered brushless, etc...

Leave them in your box until April.

Full list of cells here - http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/n...st%202007P.doc (top section are legal from April 1st)

Full list of brushless here - http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/n...s%20latest.doc

:( :( :( :( Are all your IB's dead Jim?

G

PaulRotheram 17-02-2007 12:04 PM

The majority are, but for the fact of a date restriction i'll miss the event.

Still, Batley supercup tommorrow! i'm looking forward to it now. in the process of getting me gear together and readying my cells.

What are peoples predictions for their placings?

Northy 17-02-2007 03:04 PM

Can we use 'fire crackers' tomorrow?

I hope not as I need to run with my Gp cells and the firecrackers, Can someone please clarify??:(

PaulRotheram 17-02-2007 04:32 PM

Mark, don't bring that crap up again, seriously.

There's been no word on scruitineering tommorrow. Last year there wasn't any, but im sure one of the batley boys can verify what the crack is.

Northy 17-02-2007 04:58 PM

Mark, it is not a BRCA event, so they can choose to run to whatever rules they want.

G

wacattack 17-02-2007 06:27 PM

I was there today laying the track and I heard them saying it is being run to BRCA rules therefore there will be no LIPO cells or any other non BRCA legal equipment allowed

Oscar 17-02-2007 07:10 PM

Ok Guys. Tomorrow, we will not be scrutineering. We are running to BRCA rules, and the trust will be on the drivers to abide by these rules. We simply don't want to be checking what NiMH cells, and which motor everyone is running. Its 5 mins indoor with slippy floor and obstacles, there is only so much power you can actually use;).
If anyone is flagrantly flouting those rules to gain an ADVANTAGE we may well have to take action, but I hope common sense and driver honesty will prevent it ever getting to this stage.

Please feel free to read between the lines

PaulRotheram 17-02-2007 07:13 PM

Thanks for clearing it up for everyone john! See you early morning tommorrow.

as above and my point!

PaulRotheram 17-02-2007 07:52 PM

mark, take the hint what John (oscar) said.. and let it fly.........

Tommorrow will be a fun day, and i gurantee nothing will be spoken of about who has an advantage, as on the track batley provides, the only advantage is the pair of thumbs on the sticks.

jimmy 17-02-2007 08:09 PM

Just take it as a loose BRCA rules. I honestly don't think will be a problem then.

yup i am and i fully understand its a fun thing over anything else.
i wont be running my maba (in the spirit of the meeting) ,but as has been said id gain no advantage from doing so, same as if i ran lipo, i aint got the fingers and thumbs to go faster no matter what gear you give me :-)
talking of lipo jimmy come see me tomorrow and take ur lipo pack, got somin to show you.
paul if u need i can loan you for the day 5 packs 4200! no matter what u have ull still woop my but, i enjoy off road over my other classes as its fun and relaxed!
sometimes i may come over wrong in my posts, its not intentional!
