Sham Car shells rock! I have transplanted the Aodi to the TT01

The TT01 was better behaved than the TA03F ... (benched to the back of the workshop!)

Cut the TT01 arms and put some 2mm threaded in between the two halves so I have slight toe in ...

Raped the Helicopter for an S3050 digi for the steering and put softer springs on the back (thanks for the advice there Guy)

And the cussing did not originate from you lot ...

Scott ...

Sorry couldn't help it, was curious :)

Looks good!

I think I'll be sticking with Toyota for now... :) Grown to love the AE86 look.

You can get a part that gives you more toe in... But I guess that is less fun ;)

Chris56 09-11-2013 08:26 PM

Doh - didn't really keep in much of a secret did I??? Quite handily, it also came with 2 adjustable rear wings.

Scott- when I had my TT01 I fitted the adjustable steering turnbuckles, got them from GeeDees

cunawarit 09-11-2013 10:03 PM

Local Tamiya parts! Cool great tip Chris :)

Chris56 09-11-2013 10:46 PM

No probs, also well done on getting 100 replies on this thread you started:thumbsup:

cunawarit 10-11-2013 09:59 PM

lol, thanks. But not too difficult when I easily make up 50% of the replies ;)

Only if I can have a car built:mad:

msmith105e 16-11-2013 10:09 AM

so ..... after my past few weeks racing buggys being somewhat disasterous i have decided to try to inject some fun into my friday nights and as from next friday i shall be racing my TL01 in the clubman class. i will be using a 17t brushed motor but geared right down with a 19t pinion so as not to gain any advantage on the streight. im looking forward to participating in some gentelmanly racing without getting my my knickers in a twist like i did this week :( sorry chaps the red mist seemed to be with me all night

Chris56 16-11-2013 10:51 AM

Nice one mate! Gui is running his TL01 with a 15t so I would just run the same gearing as him.

I think I might race my TA02 - whilst the Shamta Ray did provide some entertainment for people, it was a little lonely at the back:(

Should be running 13t brushless with 20t pinion so hoping for some good wheel-wheel racing between the 3 of us

cunawarit 17-11-2013 09:39 AM

FWIW I am not sure that I will keep on running the TL01 with the 15T. Might go back to the Ansmann motor.

The 15T has caused a number of overheating speedo issues that have me worried for the long term health of the speedo... :( If I run the car slowly for too long it shuts itself down.

PS: If I can figure out how to mount a fan in there somewhere (the electronics are all packed inside the chassis) I may go that route.

PPS: FWIW I am running standard gears (no speed kit) and a 21T pinion with the HPI motor. With the 21T I did run speed tuned gears.

siddus74 17-11-2013 11:50 AM

Hope you lads had a good time this friday, couldn't make it this week ... Got an old 19t double for my tt01 now as the silver can was getting left behind ... Hope to be down with you all this coming friday for some Tamiya tourer fun .... Wil aim to give the ff03 a point around the carpet as well ... God I love the old Tamiya ...

When are we running the holiday buggies or better still the lunch boxes?

Scott

cunawarit 17-11-2013 03:45 PM

I haven't got an old Tamiya buggy. But do have an old Traxxas... be warned though, it isn't that slow :)

siddus74 18-11-2013 11:20 PM

Brilliant, love the beetle. :)

cunawarit 19-11-2013 08:02 AM

Too nice ;) Another car to worry about not damaging

siddus74 19-11-2013 11:21 AM

I guess with a silver can I risk major damage ... may bring something a little faster I think

Scott.

cunawarit 19-11-2013 11:40 AM

HPI Firebolt! :) Bout 7 quid, run one in mine and I keep up with Chris' 13T sensorless.

Chris56 19-11-2013 11:42 AM

When I ran my 13T in the mini, it was about on par with the black can (23t?).

This friday I will be running 27t in the Shamta Ray and 13T brushless in Shergar

siddus74 19-11-2013 12:31 PM

The FF03 has a 13T installed and the 6 wheeler is fast enough ... maybe bring those instead ... ;)

Scott.

Chris56 19-11-2013 12:35 PM

Bring em all mate - especially your Thundershot:D

cunawarit 19-11-2013 12:59 PM

The FF03 will be an interesting comparo against the TA02 and TL01.

siddus74 19-11-2013 02:14 PM

Hmm, Lunchbox? love to run it ... has a larger wheelie bar fitted .. but people may get frustrated I feel ... :o
