SiTrace 30-11-2012 06:40 PM

I've heard it on good authority the 'k' signifies nothing more than a clear evolution from the sx name and it is shaft driven, NOT!!

As for K, keep up the guessing...its fun!

K is the 11th letter in the alphabet.

11th CAT would follow the 10th CAT

knighthawk 30-11-2012 08:32 PM

I'm hoping that Schumacher will run the SX3 range alongside this new K-1 ( if indeed it is a shaft drive car ) and support and update both cars

I personally don't like shaft drive and will not buy one, belts run with less transmission drag.

So although it's a CAT, it will be only in name, as the CAT chassis has been a belt car in design since it's first version

madmax 30-11-2012 08:46 PM

Ya know maybe it could be a dual belt system like the old ec. i ran my old ec this summer and could out drive a durango.

maybe its a xx4 layout with the motor forward, thats mi impression by the silloet

MattW 30-11-2012 09:49 PM

I'm confident that it will have driveshafts in it ;):p

PaulUpton 30-11-2012 11:22 PM

I wonder if the aerial mount position would give it away ;)

Hope they can release it in time to DHI

OneKiwi 03-12-2012 10:20 AM

Well MB say its due mid december

http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...pre-order.html

Hope some more info is released soon so I can decide between this the xray or even the yokomo, I wouldn't mind trying something else

AfroP 03-12-2012 10:39 AM

I think its going to hydro driven

some sort of new "green" system where the motor powers a pump like system that pushes water through some sealed case that in turn pushes the gears

and the K stands for Krave because everybody is Kraving 1

DeMogoobra 03-12-2012 10:50 AM

I have been in the market for a 4wd a while now. Had my mind set on a Xray but they failed to show it this weekend as promised and that dont sit well with me.
Am in no hurry really so perhaps a K1 will make my day instead. Hope to see som pics soon. Hope it is a TRF511 ripoff alltrough ;)

cmgreen 03-12-2012 10:54 AM

Think Xray got scared! They seen the K1 teaser pic and thought..............bollocks all we have is a b44 copy

Really looking forward to this, the SX3 was amazing but too complicated for me.

Belts I hope and better shocks.

Nice to have new 4wd options, I was going to run only 2wd but these change my mind

Alright Schumacher,

You've had your fun, everybody is excited and willing to
spend some hard earned money on your new toy....
let the cat out of the bag please........
If you hurry you can beat Xray to it...... (edit, to late!)

Greetings,

Hans

In my opinion K1 is the short cut for the German word "Kardan". Kardan = driveshaft and "1" because it is their first car using a driveshaft transmission...

so an English company would use a german name/referance?

Fredrik Emilsson 04-12-2012 11:22 PM

And "Schumacher" [Schuhmacher] is...?;)

Origineelreclamebord 04-12-2012 11:22 PM

I think they chose for K1 because if you shout it out real loud, it sounds like something fearsome that's going to kill you (being the competitor) :)

KAAAEEEWAN!

Perhaps K1 is just because you Kan?

K1

Hello all,

Could the K just be chosen because it is letter number 11 in the alfabet?
is this the 11th cat?

Greetings

Hans

Judging by the pic it comes with small-bore shocks but big-bore springs.

The knurled spring adjuster is a much greater outer diameter than the shock cap, and this certainly isn't the case on my Cougar. Also you can see how the shock doesn't 'fill' the inside of the spring the way it normally would.

Not sure if anyone else has picked up on that yet, but it is interesting. Doing some reading a number of X-Factory guys believe that the big-bore spring is far more important than the shock itself.

I certainly hope it isnt shaft drive either, with the release of the X-Ray 4wd we now have just too many 4wd's using the same layout. I wouldn't want off-road to head the way touring cars have become where everything is a clone

MattW 05-12-2012 12:45 PM

All this "K1" name speculation is fun, do carry on!!

lochness42 05-12-2012 12:46 PM

Well in teaser pic you got "The Cat with Killer Instinct".
K can stand for Killer and 1 looks like letter I

moleman 05-12-2012 03:36 PM

Hoping for a 1-belt and gearbox with 1-idler solution similar to X-7.
With motor and battery down centerline.

When I searched for K1 at their website I saw that many of their racing kits have item no. K1xx.
Maybe they're naming the K1-kit its actual item no?

Looking forward to its release..!

/Morgan
