Don't get confused with the pictures, the first set are of the eighth track (and my missus on her mini bike!). The tenth track is astro, unless you want to run on the eighth track! good to meet simon and carl today, can't wait to get a meeting run.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Southend are building a permanent off rd track and will be hosting a round of the regionals?

Astro for the regional mate, the grass track is slightly too big for tenth!

I would strongly recommend getting your own. You will need it at Colchester and Boughton at least. Also, the great thing about a PT is, you're not chasing someone else who forgot to put it back in the rack or, in the panic of maintenance and getting out on track, forgetting to put one in your car. Murphys law says its your best effort you put in that isn't counted;)

That is the form Dan... can you not see the form and the 'send' buttons down the left hand side? It takes up most of the page.

For the long answer read all. For the short one, skip to the last paragraph;)

I can't speak for Tom, but I can tell you why the site is as it was from last year.

The pre-registration was put in place because of the number of drivers and how many of which who were choosing to do two classes. It starts to get quite complicated trying to match the drivers by ability and ensure there are enough marshalls for each race. Because it required a great deal of juggling and was very time consuming, having people book in early helped give the organisers (muggins) the time to do the juggling.

As an incentive, a "priority heat listing" was issued and to ensure a minimal amount failed to show on the day, a pre-pay system was put in place.

HOWEVER, it was a paypal beta system that was notoriously slow and difficult to set up because of the aweful and limited server space offered by Paypals Beta team. In addition, the monies went to my account and whilst perfectly safe as I wasn't going anywhere, it wasn't an ideal situation.

Soooooo. Moving into this year...... At the moment, register your details and help out your rep and EoE saviour Mr Evans - It's a bloomin difficult job keeping us pedantic, highly strung, bipolar, keyboard-ninja, racers happy. Then pay on the day as you would any other race meeting. Simples:thumbsup:
