Yes, I like it too. It should fit, we will test it ASAP

Just fitted it, no problem at all! The front will be slightly taller than for the D4, so you must leave a little more "skirt" in the front. Also the cutout for the steering links will be a bit lower than the premarked lines. The rear body post hole is 99% right, just make the hole slightly behind the premarked hole. The most important thing is the front body hole. Do NOT cut along the premarked line here, in stead keep the nose as long as possible from the mold, and the hole will be inside/on the precut line.

It's an übercool body!!! :wub

Oh, and the HB wing really fits perfectly! You can mount it more forward and let it rest on the shock tower. It follows the outline of the tower perfectly!

Fitting a D4 shell to a B44 is like wearing your cousin's pants

Antoine (rusti) has done a great job when yesterday evening he has updated the website www.mid44.com so that team members and forum pages are now online :D

Now you can see our faces

And how did the defendig champion Antonio do? Win?

Oliv996 16-04-2008 10:47 AM

His MiD44 was not ready for the event so he has chosen to run his old XX-4. He TQ'd but did not succeed in keeping his first place and finally finished 4th.

It would be a excellent result for me  but not sufficient for him: his goal for each race : TQ & win

Spoiled brats!

So he got rid of his X-5 then?

How did you do yourself? And Gayo?

Gayo 16-04-2008 03:52 PM

I'm still in love of my X-5, what a car. I will neeeever get rid of it, unless I become homeless or something like that
It's just that I had to run a car made by The Mod-Master, The Brain, my friend, the one and only Olivier

Here's mine, I hope I will try it tomorrow.:wub:D

SHY 16-04-2008 04:42 PM

Whoa! You really managed to pack it tight up front there!

Reminds me of a Gary Larson drawing: A guy is sitting in the dentist's chair, with tubes and all those cotton things stuffed in his mouth. Then the dentist says "We're going to try and cram in this tennis ball just out of curiosity"...

Yes totally agree with you johnboy: that's the main advantage of the MiD44! Keeping 95% of the B44, thus benefit of the worldwide distribution of the spare parts and the 5 remaining percents which nearly never break make a significant difference on handling :D

SHY 03-05-2008 06:31 PM

Well, on my home track with medium traction the B44 out of the box didn't perform as well as the good old XX4. I can't wait to get the MID conversion kit - I think it's gonna do the trick!

Weight forward = advance forward = WIN :D

Olivier, is that the "H-Energy 4500" cells you are using? I bought one pack last year, and it was totally useless... (might have been a bad batch of course) Absolutely no power!

Gayo 05-05-2008 11:09 AM

SHY, my friend, we had a regional race yesterday on a medium-grip dirt track and the MiD44 really shined :wub

Awesome handling, jumping... the car is really fast, precise and predictable. A bit like a X-5, but with a reliable and fast tranny

You won't be disappointed, believe me !

Oh, I use the same cells, they are I-Power 4500. You can find them cheap on Fleebay, they feel much as good ol'4200 IB, same kind of brutal punch, with less self-discharge, it seems. I can't comment on the reliability, I only used them 3 times since I bought them.
