Quite honestly guys I will say the following and leave it at this:

Stu is the only sane one here, cos he's quit!

I don't really want to be on the committee. I'm not enjoying meetings right now - I love the racing but the rest is, as Rog says, a chore. I'm still doing it, but only because if I don't, who will?

And it worries me, because sooner or later (possibly sooner) Rog will get sufficiently fed up to pack it all in. Right now, only 3 people have run meetings - Rog, Stu and myself. And I'm just not good enough to run race control and race at the same time, so if I was left as the only race controller I'd quit. Its not worth my driving a 40 mile round trip and missing my lad all day Sunday just to sit in the cabin and yell at people to come out to marshal. Quite honestly I don't know why Rog does it!

So if you want to know what I think this club needs - its some more people willing to actually run meetings. Turn up with no intention of racing, just there to help out. Come down midweek to do some work. Go and speak to the council.
These are all things I just can't do, which is why when I was first asked to join the committee I said no. My position on that hasn't changed. If that means the AGM is no longer happy with my position so be it.

As for the rest - if you don't like how things are being run I offer you three options

1) Step Up and help
2) Put Up
3) Shut Up

What do you want me to do ??? :)

I'm there most Sundays. Its become part of my routine!
I don't want to step on anyone's toes but if new committee members are wanted I'm up for it.
Or should I say I'm up for making the club better.

Im more than happy to give something back to the club!

Just say the word.

Ironically Matt, you are the one exception! I think you'll find that Dave and your new indoor track will be keeping you busy enough very soon......

The irony being, of course, that whilst rr isnt a "club" ands its users have less "say", it must be a damn sight easier to run! Democracy isnt all its cracked up to be.

Racing has become a big part of what I do. And I enjoy it.
I want to go the extra mile. After all like you say if you want your say step up and be counted!

With RR I've done what I can. Used my contacts and got a great result. Hopefully the RR indoor track will be one of the best! There's so much you can do when it's a permanent track.

I'll help with anything the club needs. I'm 2 minutes away.
