Tamiya USA seems to have new stock of 511's in recently (well, they showed out of stock, now they show in), still not 100% myself whether they are doing another 511 release with the diffs, or just gear diffs...seems like both cars stay current for now!

It'll be interesting to see if the new steering bridge can be flipped to run forwards without dremelling..., if not, suggests to me they are just doing bling for the 502, and the 511 is still getting the good stuff!!

It finally seems the 511 has run its course and tamiya are pushing the 502x..
So much for the 511 worlds edition.. just a standard 511 with separate gear diff :(

Lee seems to be forging ahead now with the 502x..

So, he has been told to by Tamiya then, SAD...

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet, but it does seem that way.

Would be nice to hear from Lee on this. He seemed to do OK with it in last years nationals. ;)

I've only just got a 511, as I prefer belt-drive and I already had a bunch of spares from my Durga that fit it, so I'm hoping it isn't dying just yet.

Then again, just because Lee isn't using it, that doesn't make it dead.

hey bzb is still using it, so it must at least be a bit cool  :wub

Whether the TRF belt drive buggy era is at an end or not, the TRF501X and TRF511 will remain cool, no matter what

TRF511 kit availability may come to an end soon, but rest assured DB01 parts availability for a really long time. I thought Tamiya was going to re-release the TRF511 with gear diffs?? HEY TAMIYA! YOU LISTENING!?

a.m 10-11-2011 06:44 AM

Good to see the 511 still going strong!

If I won the lotto I want a replica Yataba arena in my garden!

Maybe they are working on this:

That chassis will combined the advantages of a cross-ways mounted motor (for in-flight correction) and the instant response and reliability of shaft drive.

WOW!!! could be the proverbial game-changer!

Notice the camber links on the 502, nice brass then carbon link?

Also, seen Pidge run these before, what part number are the blue bits sitting between the shock bushing and the tower?

I'm developing aluminium upper arm mounts for the the TRF502X chassis. The upper arm mounts will have mounting positions at the same mounting location as the TRF 511 (except for the outer holes). The mounts will be available in set of 2 (L+R).

Pls send me a PM if you are interested.

ottoswe 21-11-2011 09:23 PM

.. well the db02 isnt made for racing.. but the gyro effect made by the motor and the center shafts will make the car a bit special.

AaronR 22-11-2011 02:59 AM

End of the road? No way! Newly built this weekend! :wub
