how did you get on at the southport gp mate??

Whiskers 12-06-2011 07:53 PM

Phil, I never said that I was going to attend this meeting and anyway I had to do a march with band and my car is waiting on some new bits and oils to get it fully setup after its scheduled rebuild. (Shocks don't work very well when they don't have any oil in them.)

Whiskers 12-06-2011 07:57 PM

And anyway, I have no objection to racing in the rain. You didn't see the state of my car during the southlakes regional, you couldn't tell what colour it was or even what car it was! And it didn't bother me one bit! A quick brush and wipe down and that was me ready to go again!

So don't preach to me about not running in the rain!

Matt... Did one round then headed home as the rain set in!

tisher 12-06-2011 08:32 PM

how did you guys get on today? did you do a full meet or did rain stop play.
Sorry I pussyed out today little one did not want to race I think he was stuggling to see on the rostrum and I did not have anything for him to stand on  plus the rain:p gutted really because it was sunny when we got there at 10am to help with the track.

Si Coe 12-06-2011 08:57 PM

Rain didn't exactly stop play, but people kept leaving as they got too cold and wet, so eventually we had to abandon the meeting when there weren't enough drivers to race and marshal.

Cars were coming off with rain on them, but no water splashes up from the track so that bit won't stop us racing. But the rostrum is very exposed and its freezing up there soaked to the skin!

Hit a nerve young man?

Glad you enjoyed your band march hahaha

tisher 12-06-2011 09:17 PM

Hopefully at some point I might actually get a chance to do a race meet on the track. The 5 or 6 laps I did before the rain were good fun although I did find it difficult. Mainly due to the fact last time I raced out doors was 21 years ago:woot: going to need a bit of practise and a 2wd for other reasons

I have not read all this thread, so apologies. So how did CaptainLip get on in the A Final against Bud and Matt? Was it the show piece that we were all waiting for? Did the captain manage to get out in front and show the experienced drivers how to do it??

Would be nice to hear all about this showdown.

Si Coe 12-06-2011 10:28 PM

There was no showdown as both Buds and Lippy are afraid of a little water.....

Simple really. There was no excuse as I never said that I would be there. I guess it will take a brave man to go racing on the wifes birthday.

captainlip 13-06-2011 10:02 AM

Hahaha a very brave man! Consider yourself excused!
