The thing is the cross, hump and ripples are so large they can be incorporated more than once in most track layouts, so whilst its only one 'feature' it comes up more than once per lap.
For example, sometimes the ripples are run in both directions with a divider down the middle.
Sundays layout actually doesn't show that side up very well. I've got some pics of an older layout I'll dig up.

As for the old track - people loved it, but they didn't come to race on it! Yesterday we ran 4 good sized heats in the rain on a club meet, which shows the new track is drawing folks in.....

no doubt at all
i did say for god sake dont jump all over me i was asking a question, i new that this would happen

Si Coe 06-06-2011 07:03 PM

Actually Carl its a very valid question. Seeing the track in the flesh its still a valid question - it certainly does look flat!
But when set up its a lot more 3D than it looks, at least it drives like it is. And its got more features than Southport!

Perhaps if you were to lie down on the track they could jump all over you! solve yr issues at same time!

Anyway i agree - ive seen circuit tracks with more jumps on them!!!

Whats the point in racing off road on a flat track?

Si Coe 06-06-2011 07:08 PM

What would you know Shanks? Last time you went racing your competitors were all cavemen and the marshaling was done by dinosaurs......

my feedback on the track...

Great, nice big race area which allows loads of variations.

table top at start of straight and "burm" at the end I really liked.

The quad bumps - I'm still having nightmares about em. I could manage two singles and a pair reliably, two pairs was too much, but then I know (Rob?) the chap with the red, blue n white FS2 could do it reliably.

The wood jump was silly - purely I think because it was on the top ratchet setting. Sure, the cars looked amazing in the air, just thought it was sending em a little too high.

The step and table in the near right corner is a good feature - certainly possible to nail every lap, and equally it's gonna eat you up if you get it wrong.

And as for the Durangos.... well mine a) did get some sand in the centre spur (I pulled it off as a precaution, and it was OK), and b) my front crown gear went in round 5 .... but that was due to a shimming mistake on my part after installing new bearings.

Looking forward to the regional ... useful day.

Thanks !

It was Matt with the Lazer. And you don't want to know how many hours of practice that took!

We made a mistake with the removable jump - we let Johnny put it out. He thinks the top setting is the only setting! In fact, he was talking about installing it on top of the table top just before the main straight, then running down the straight the wrong way and seeing who can launch their car furthest into Goshen Park. I think Johnny might have some 'issues'.....

AndyG 06-06-2011 09:33 PM

one round, I got a position on the rostrum where the wood ramp was slightly obscured ... off I went full beans through the loop forgetting it was there and nearly beheaded the poor marshall in the corner.

Learn how to jump you set of poofs

Reckon we need a bigger ramp and a landing ramp for massive air and soft landings For soft arses
And yeah big air competition is on I gonna show you fools how high a Rc car can go
Please refer to cool jump pics in the bury section and if you think you can take on me or johnny nitro Who is the Current big air record holder
Then bring it on

Hi, track looks good, just got back into it after 20 years away! Do you provide transponders at the track or do I need my own?
